VW 2001 bora Air cond pump replaced and now not working any clues why

Did you replace the (freon) when you replaced the compressor? You lost it all when you removed the lines and then a safety switch that keeps the compressor from damage without freon, engages. Fill with proper amount of freon and you should be ok.

Just replaced all a/c components shot freon in but compressor still won't kick on

Depends what you are working on in order to help. Did you vacuum the system before charging it with Freon? How much did you add to the system? How much does it hold? If there isn't enough Freon in it, the compressor won't come on until it gets enough Freon.

My air conditioner works but does not cool . i have added freon the last two years and fixed the problem ,did the same thing this year but did not help .

When self adding freon after it leaks out you get air trapped in the system. After adding freon a couple of times the air expands not leaving room for the needed freon. To continue adding freon with air tapped will knock the compressor out pretty quickly, there's not enough room for both & the air is keeping the freon from being able to cool properly give the false indication of being low on freon. The freon you are adding has the dye added to assist in finding the leak since freon does not evaporate nor dissipate it its being leaked out. A black light will assist locating the leak. The best thing is to have the unit checked & serviced by a mechanic...he'll charge about $ 150.00 to check for leaks, remove the old freon...his machine will tell him how much air its trapped in the system by how little freon is removed. For the service fee he will replace valves & gaskets, where needed, correcting most leaks. After sucking the system down & recharging the problem should be corrected.

2001 SUZUKI GRAND VITARA ..S/C BLOWING WARMISH AIR..FIRST SHOP SAID EVERYTHING COMPRESSOR AND ALL THE GOODIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT ABOUT 3200!!..TOOK IT TO ANOTHER PLACE WHO CHECKED AND SAID NO...

AC always leaks freon through the pulley shaft in the compressor.
The best way to hold freon longer, is to use the AC every single month, even in winter, for a few minutes. That helps oil the seals.

If you have not had to replace the freon before, you were just lucky.
It is almost always just the freon.

Not only is the $145 appropriate, but you could have just gotten a can and done it yourself for $20.

And by the way, a whole new compressor is more like $400 plus $100 labor.

How do I put freon in my car?

If your car has never had the entire a/c system replaced,it has to be done by a shop.Pre-1995 has the old R-12 freon systems.1995 and after uses R-134a freon. You cannot use one with the other. To get R-12 freon, you have to have a special permit/license to use/sell purchase or dispose of it.If your system has been replaced, just comment to this post,I will get an auto email and will tell you how.
Sorry and good luck.Greg

I want to know wat kind of ac freon my expadition

It uses the 134 A which is a replacement for freon, but is not freon. It is supposed to be more environmentally friendly, but is not as efficient when it comes to cooling as the old Freon 12. It is illegal in the US for you to have freon in your possession, only authorized shops are allowed to have it and install it.

95 Cadillac seville added 2 cans of freon and unhooked battery cable, still on cold air and car states freon low. How many cans does it need if empty?

2 lbs of freon is all you need if empty, replace your low pressure switches, sit on a thin a/c line running on top of your fire wall from one end to the other, you will need to recover the freon before you can replace these two sensor's. These sensor's are bad that's why it reads on your dash low freon.

Toyota 1998 mdl

An A/C service is not like an oil change, something that must be done on a schedule to maintain the car, freon must be replaced when AC starts malfunctioning because it leaked to much freon.
When the problem is low freon AC usually does not cool enough, sometimes you also get AC pipes freezing, check if you have ice on your AC lines that can also be the freon.
Also a fault on AC control can give you temperature suddenly getting lower after a while.
