It may have a timing board for the intermittent wipers. I had the same problem on my Tahoe...ended up changing the wand switch and the timing board before it finally worked right.
These wipers employ two switches: the switch inside the vehicle (on/off/intermittent), and the park switch built into the wiper control module which is part of the wiper motor assy. One or both have malfunctioned.
Sounds like the slip ring in the wiper motor has a strip missing from it,if so you need a new wiper motor,parts for wiper motors are next to impossible to find.

Did you replace the wiper motor switch with a new or second hand on as I see this a lot & 95% of the time it is the switch it may need cleaned or you may have a dead wire that power the switch
