First you need to go to the local parts store and get a steering wheel
puller and a clock spring compressor tool. You can rent them but just
cheaper to buy it and return it. I got mind like 35 bucks together.
You will remove the horn button just by pulling it towards you
be careful not to rip the horn wire out. Next there may be a retainer
clip remove it with a pair of needle nose pliers. Next get a breaker
bar or a impact gun to back the center nut off. Once off use the
steering wheel puller by inserting the threaded bolts into the threaded
holes directly beside the center pin. ease the puller onto the center
pin and tighten down until the steering wheel starts to move back
towards you continue until off. On some trucks there is a steel plate
covering the housing to the left side and towards the top are two
small torx screws remove them and remove the cover. Next grab your
clock spring compressor and install it similar to the way you did the
wheel puller you will tighten down the center bolt slightly
decompressing the clock spring. as you compress the clock spring look
to the center there is a small retainer clip that looks like it is made
into the center pin pry the clip off making sure not to damage it and
remove the compressor tool, remove the clock spring making sure to pay
attention on how it comes apart you can put it all back together.
Remove the turn signal switch should be 3 phillips head screws. You may
need to disconnect the horn wire at this point it just turns slightly
and pulls out. After you remove the clock spring you will see the lock
cylinder body, follow the body towards the center pin. There will be a
small torx bit or a phillips screw to it will be silver and very shinny at the end of the
lock housing remove it and slide the lock cylinder out. Install the new
one and reverse the steps.
hope this helps...........good luck!

could be a crankshaft position sensor located on the back side of the engine. There is a two wire plug on it and should be close to the freeze-out plugs. you will need an 8mm wrench to remove it.

The other screws are behind the woodgrain panels on either side of the speedometer cluster. The panels are held in place with metal clips and are difficult to pry loose. I did it by using a small plastic wedge that I found in a junk pile and once I had a place to start, I worked each corner of both panels until pried out. These panels could break, so go slow and be patient.
SOURCE: How to remove an alternator from a 1992 Olds Cutlass Ciera
You don't really need to remove the alternator to have it tested just take it to a repair shop and they can connect to it in the car. To replace the unit you need to disconnect the battery first. After that remove the wires remembering where they go. Make a sketch or take a digital photo like I do for when you get lost. Now on the top of the unit is a bolt that attaches the alternator to a slotted arm. This arm is the adjusting arm. Next loosen the main mounting bolt at he base of the alternator. With this done you should be able to move the unit in to get the slack needed to remove the belt. Last completely remove the main mounting blot and the alternator is lose. Revers the steps to install.
