have you tried having the fault codes reading section of the book
It is the first line of the trouble shooting
it appears that there is an electronic part break down for over heating
it could be in the ignition control module, ECM, coil/s, immobilizer
try exchanging the ECM with a known good one and fix any faults shown on the code scanner
It sounds like you may have a leaking head gasket, that is just a guess but any local shop that has a gas analyzer can confirm it by testing for combustion gases in the coolant.
change the transmission speed censor if you go to googl you can find out how to jump the computer to make it tell you the engine an tranny codes an the replace what it says is wrong
can you tell which cylinder is affected? If a spark plug gap is to wide, the coil may have trouble creating a hot enough spark to jump it. Check your plugs for proper gaps befor looking to the coil. Good Luck _Ned_
check the multiplug connections on the dme control unit in the e-box in the engine bay on the right hand side as it has been known that corrosion can damage the pins
