You may want to just remove fuze #28 under the hood...for about 30 seconds...reboots the bcm and it corrected my Aztek's ills.

SOURCE: 92 4 runner HATCH ISSUE!

Turn on the rear window wiper . Try to get the wiper arm off the glass. There is a switch that will not let the window operate if the wiper is on the glass.

SOURCE: Rear hatch power lock doesn't work

There is not a seperate relay or fuse for that particular lock. One fuse runs all of the locks. The problem probably is in the wiring where it hinges from the body of the cat to the trunk lid. You will find a plastic wire loom going along one of the hinges for the trunk lid, you will have to open up the loom and check for a broken wire where the wire bend the most. Some times just shaking or moving the wire harness will make the lock work.

SOURCE: My 95 GMC safari, rear hatch stuck closed on passenger side

You have to crawl in the back remove the panels and find the actuator(s), when you find them check for any linkages the may have fallen off. Gm uses little clips that get brittle and break. if it is a clip reinstall rod with a new clip or reinstal rod and secure with mechanics wire.

If the actuator is broken you can hook up a volt meter to the pin outs and test for power by hitting the door lock unlock button. If there's power then chamces are that the actuator is faulty. if theres no power check ground connections fuses relays and re test. good luck

Dodge journey rear hatch wont lock. When you lock the car all the doors lock but you can still open the rear hatch

I would guess that either the wiring to the hatch lock is broke, or the lock or linkage isn't functioning. Have someone stand at the back of the car when locking the doors and listen for the latch actuator to click, if it does click then it's probably a broken plastic piece on the linkage, if it doesn't then either you have some bad wiring or the actuator itself may be bad.

Power Door Locks - 1996 Honda Accord Wagon - Rear Hatch

I had the same problem. A weather mat got stuck when the hatch closed. After freeing the mat, the hatch would not open. The lock button would go up and down, but the hatch stayed locked.
What happened was the the plastic holder for the metal arm that connected the lock button to the mechanism broke.
There are no screws holding the inside panel, just metal tab clips.
First, I took off the inside close handle--2 bolts. Then I had to work my way from the center tail light, unscrewing it and popping off the left and right trim pieces--metal tab clips. These were covering the back panel. Now the hard part was getting the back panel off. It does pop off and I found it very hard to get something behind the edges.
The plastic holder that held the metal connector in place had broke. I used two plastic pull ties to hold the connector in it's place. Reversed the procedure and it works again.
