Well, to fix this issue you need an OBD Reader (On-Board Diagnostic Reader). A reader will cost you about $60.00. Which is expensive. So, in my opinion, you have to go to the service center to fix the Check Engine Light.

Run the fault codes to find the reason for the fault ---could be engine or transmission as the light reports on both---repair/replace the fault , then use a scan tool to put the light out
