Sorry but you will need to be more specific. Is the noise only heard while the car is moving? Does the noise go away when you are at a stop, low speed or high speeds? Does the noise change while braking? Does the noise change while making hard left or right turns? Have you opened the hood and looked around? Have you checked the level of the engine oil or is the oil change over due? Sorry but there are so many things that will create a "Knock" noise. Please write back with more details. If this sounds too overwhelming please bring the car in for diagnostics. Continuing to drive it the way it is could cause you to be stranded or increase the already needed repairs. Good Luck.

I think many of these systems can be reset by hooking up battery, turning the key to "ON" but not to start, wait 15 minutes, turn key off, then try to start.

Bad light switch.

These cars have a history of bad camshaft sensors. This would be my first suspicion.

open out the dash and replace the light behind

I may b a fuse in the engine fuse box labeled gauges..check those and all other fuses pertaining to dash lights.. If they are good then it may be your wireing in the dash itself..or plugin wire to the dash may b faulty

Usually controled by a vacuum "motor" I'd say the "switch" has a problem. You may be able to get a repair manual here: http://www.manualslib.com/
