Do you hear the fuel pump coming on normally comes on for approx 10 sec. when you turn key on, if no pump noise fault is still in fuel system, check the fuse and wiring, check for trouble codes, check injectors, etc

SOURCE: 2001 sebring will turn over but will not start

Most Chrysler cars do have an anti-theft system that can cut out the engine.

I would call the service department, with your VIN handy, and see if yours was equipped with one, and what you need to reset it.

If that isn't the problem, your EGR valve might be bad, or the sensor for it. I've seen a lot of cars where if either the valve itself, or the sensor are malfunctioning, the car won't run properly.

I would also check your MAF and IAC, as those can cause the car to not run.

If you can, get an OBDII code scanner, and pull the codes from your car, they might give you a more specific place to look. (Most parts stores will let you take one home, you put a deposit down, and get it back when you bringthe scanner back to them)

SOURCE: 2001 ford focus will not start. The engine will

I will try to help you. You are correct about the starting fluid, if it has fire starting fluid should do something. So the problem must be either no fire to the plugs or the timing belt is broke.

Check to see if the plugs have spark. If they do not, then get with the Autoparts store and ask if your car needs a Ignition relay to run. Then ask if your car takes a rubber timing belt. If your car does not have a rubber timing belt try the Ignition relay. If you do have a rubber belt check behind the shield in front of the engine to see if the timing belt is broke.

The timing belt is different than the serpetine belt that drives the pulleys. Cars with rubber timing belts have both belts. Should your timing belt be broken it is not an expensive repair. But you will need to details on replacement of that part.

I have a 97 sebring that wont turn over. I sprayed starter fluid in the intake and it turned over, so i changed the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and the relay. What else could it be?

Is the PCM - engine computer energizing the fuel pump relay ? The best place to test the fuel pump electrical circuit is at the relay , using a test light or volt meter were the relay plugs into. On the bottom of the relay there should be numbers 30,87 an 85 an 86 . 87 an 30 are the fuel pump side of the relay . 85 an 86 are the control or turn on side of the relay . Two of the pins should have B+ voltage . One will be open an the other will show ohms resistance on ohm meter . Find a wiring diagram at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html an test for power an control of the relay . Test don't guess an don't be a parts changer , Fuel Pump Electrical Circuits Description and Operation

1991 F150 Will not crank.

Do real fuel pressure test using test gauge. You changed ignition module but not coil? Are you getting nice fat blue spark? When spraying starter fluid into intake it only tries to start which makes me think you have ignition problem.

I have a 1995 Toyota tacoma w/ the 2.4 L four cyl. It will not start just turns over. The fuel pump comes on relay clicks but it just turns over. Sprayed starter fluid in the intake and it sputtered. Any...

Check for a spark first, double check fuel pump is running and actually "hums" when you prime the motor. Check fuel filter, clogged fuel filter could be the culprit and explain why it sputterred with starter fluid but wont run without. Good luck.

I have a 1998 ford f250. I changed the fuel filter in hoping that it would stop the chugging and stuttering. It didn't and now it won't start. There is gas in the fuel line and the battery is new. ...

It sounds like you may have bad gas. Use starter fluid and spray it directly into the intake by removing the air filter and spraying it in then turn over helps if you have someone to turn it over while you spray the starter fluid. If the car starts then you have bad gas or not enough fuel pressure even know you have fuel it may not be enough if the pump is going out. But if the gas is bad it has trouble burning. If this doesnt fix it then the problem is with spark fouled out spark plugs.

Hard starting or will not start every time

With the vehicle turned off: spray some starter fluid into your intake. You'll have to take off the hose from your air filter assembly to do this. After you spray some starter fluid reinstall the hose to your intake. And try to start your vehicle. If it starts every time you do this and runs without issues. Then you could have a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is going out.

1994 S10 Blazer Tahoe starting problems

Well, obviously someone didn't tell you the truth because spraying into intake doesn't make the vehicle turn over any better. You have ignition or fuel delivery problem. Start by taking fuel line off at intake and crank engine a couple times catching any gas in a cup or something. If none, then trace fuel line back and under vehicle til you find filter. Should be under driverside midway back on inside of frame. Change this and try test again. If no gas, see if fuel pump is on motor(mechanical pump). Change this and test again. If not on motor then it's in gas tank(electric pump). Most cases the tank has to be lowered to take out pump, careful not to drop, dent or make sparks. Some came with access through the floor so check that first. Normally you can hear an electric pump come on when you turn the key. Good Luck
