I had removed dash to replace heater core, double checked all connections during reinstall of dash. Everything connected and airbag still wont turn off. Was not on when dash was removed.
Easy way to rid light is to unhook battery for 30 min. and re hook, may loose a few settings like radio, alternative is with a scan tool or ob2 reader with the function to reset light.
If light returns, you will have to have it diagnosed with a scan tool and read fault code to determine problem.

If necessary, loosen and remove the under dash cabin light retaining bolt
With the bolt removed, the light and housing may be repositioned out of the way
On some early model vehicles, the cabin light mounted under the dash may interfere with cover removal. If necessary, loosen the retaining bolt and reposition the light housing with the wiring attached.
Be sure that all are removed before attempting to remove the cover. If necessary, unbolt and reposition all/part of the dashboard for better access.
