Sure!

Fuel Injection systems are actually pretty bullet-proof.

The first thing I think when I hear "efi".... is AIR MASS VALVE (throttle body) or COLD START VALVE (extra FUEL source.. choke equivalent)... because I have had it handed to me a couple of times by exotic cars.

Despite my brain working in such an odd fashion... most of the troubles resolve to ordinary causes...

Won't idle is a very specific and narrow area
It gives your injectors, filter, exhaust, spark and fuel pressure a probable clearance... that is putting your cold-start circuit and ecu in the line of logic.

BEFORE we get all exotic about fuel injection we need to consider this is a "SEASONAL" vehicle...

Cheapest first course... dump the fuel and refresh with clean fuel (include a wee bit of injector cleaner)...

Before going out to buy that spare ECU (efi control board)... you always wanted (any way)...

If you plan on keeping your Pantera... good spares are always good to have!

Good hunting and good luck

Choke problems

I take it that you have a carby in which case adjust the choke cover so that the cam engages the throttle lever and holds the throttle open until the bi-spring in the choke cover moves enough to move the cam out of the away allowing normal idle. If you have efi (Not from your choke word) then run fault codes and see which sensor is faulty. There should be an idle speed around 1200 RPM idle in efi for around 3 minutes and then the idle should drop back.

My 96 nissan altima dies at idle

Could be a dirty throttle body, vac leak, or a defective idle air control valve. The computer adjusts idle speed by controlling the amount of air entering the throttle body via the control valve.

What problems are caused by a bad crank sensor or ignition control module on a 96 lumina?

Try the throttle position sensor, or the idle air control valve. If crank sensor is bad it won't start at all. Does it have the check engine light on? What are the codes???

My 96 V6 dodge stratus idles rough or sometimes does not idle at all. when moving the engine hesitates but will stay on as long as I'm stepping on the throttle

If EFI style fuel system, Faulty fuel pump common. Does not perform at idle because of reduced voltage. above idle car behaves normally.

I have a 96 chevy 2500 5.7 vortec with bad poppet valves, can i change to a throttle body intake from a 95. both are pre obd 2

You can't change the intakes on it. The 1995 throttle body and the efi that they used on the 96 up are totally differant. In 1996 when they went to the vortec motors they changed the heads. the 96 up only have 8 bolts to bolt the intake to the motor and are totally differant angles on the bolt holes. the 87-95 centerbolt head motors had 12 bolts to hold the intake down. Also the 96 should be odb 2 by government compliance. 95 was a split year but 96 up should be odb 2. If you do a search online you should be able to find the new injector or alot of time you can just get the poppets.Either way in the long run you will be better off fixing what is the rather than trying to convert.

KOST 32 EGR pressure feeback fault. 4.9 EFI. Stalls when idling, runs rich

Check and see if the egr is stuck open at idle. It should have ported vacuum on egr valve. If egr is not stuck open, Check throttle position sensor, and map sensor for proper operation. Also check throttle plate for carbon buildup

96 daihatsu charade idling problem

1. Check your water sensor and plenum temperature sensor.

2. The throttle body has a wax element air valve used for cold idle. As the water temperature increases, the wax element closes the idle fast port. Being the highest part of the coolant system you may have an air lock, which can be solved by bleeding the hoses on the throttle body.
