You have a 4r70w transmission and more than likely a forward drum failure has occurred, seeing as reverse still works fine and no forward engagement. This is not an electrical problem, it is a hard part failure and the transmission will need to be disassembled to repair it. Forward drum failures are one of the more common failures in these transmissions. 4r70w no forward gears only reverse help needed Ford Truck Enthusiasts...

?2005 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor starts

I would but imagine that since it goes into reverse, the shift lever is connected to the transmission. Makes sense. But won't go into forward gears with the selector/shift lever. Your either very low on trans fluid or you've burned the clutch packs out from being low on trans fluid. Only makes sense.

A Pulley and a Power Steering Pump is needed -99 Ford Crown

well let me explain if? the pulley was spiining on thr shaft to begin with on the pump..putting a new pulley on a worn shaft won;t work!! there is 2 ways to fix this!! one is if this is the case then you can use JB weld around the shaft and i mean use it and even put some inside the pulley then put the pulley back on the shaft let set for 4-6 hours before running the engine also you can go to a manchine shop or a parts store and ask for a roll of brass shim stock about .03-.05 thousand's and rapped a few times around the shaft to create a tight fit when you press the pulley back on making sure you leave about a 1/4 inch extended past the end of the shaft so it will go in the pulley on install

Transmission only goes in reverse

Most likely the forward gear has broken that means you need a rebuild or a new transmission ......But thats my opinion I had the same thing happen to me and most of the time it works only in reverse that means the forward gear has broken....Hope this helps and sorry for the bad news....
