I have a 1999 dodge caravan with a 3.3L & my fans aren't coming on to cool the engine off...What do I do? HELP me please as this is my families ONLY vehicle & we need it....

Either the fan motor is bad, and/or the relay is bad. You will need to check the motor for power when the fans should be on. like a/c on with eng running. If no power there, then the relay may be bad. the relay is located down on the lower left corner at the radiator. It's the size of a matchbox. The fuse in number 24, 40 amps. Check fuse first. If its blown the motor is likely bad. See if it spins, if the fuse is good, rap on the back of the motor, if it tries to spin, the motor is bad.

97 dodge cooling fans stoped working

If you have checked the relay module under the fans,on drivers side, and they are fine, replace the coolant sensor, and make sure all the air is bled out of the cooling system.

2000 grand caravan 3.8 Condenser fans not comming on with a/c ...fans do cycle with engine temp compressor is engauging and a/c is trying to work but gets hot fast with no ..... fan working

Check under the hood in the fuse/relay panel. Lift the cover and look inside the cover for the correct location for the fuse/relay controlling the cooling fans. Either the fuse will be blown or the relay is bad. Use a test light to check the fuse for power on both sides,if you have power on the fuse then the relay has gone bad. Hope this will help you.

I have a 2005 Dodge caravan and the engine fan in front of the radiatior is not working. Already replaced the fan. What would you suggest?

Replace the coolant sensor,it turns the fan on when the temp gets to the 218 degree mark, and then it cuts it off.Make sure there is no air in the cooling system,if there is bleed it out.Check for a blown fuse also, and see if the fan will come on with the defrost,or ac,it should come on automatic if the ac is turned on,or defrost,if it does, replace the coolant sensor

Electric cooling fans will work.

The fans are actuated by coolant temp in the radiator. It is possible to have overheated coolant in the radiator, causing the steam, and your engine not overheating...the temp sensor for your engine is reflecting the engine temp, not the temp of the coolant in the radiator. You problem could be a bad temp sensor at the radiator...not allowing the fans to come on. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

Have changed fan relay and temperature sensor fans still will not

Heather, the radiater fan relay is solid state, mounted behind the facia
on a bracket drivers side, right of left headlamp assembly, feed by fuse 24, 40 amp in the pdc, box, I'm assuming thats what your talking about, the coolant sensor signals the PCM ,when temp hits 212*F, tells the solid state relay to turn the fans on, check the ground for the fans, should be near the relay. if by chance you have no air lock in the cooling system, after the pump was replaced. Belt routing ok, was this done by experinced help. GOOD LUCK, RDJRP
