The Wheel Hub Brg is 162.79 at Rock Auto.Com
The sensor 30 to $55.00

Start using Google,Rock Auto & You Tube Video-- to
educate yourself-- before approaching these repair shops

From what is see on Rock- the speed sensor is not part of
the bearing assy on any of the 4 motors

If you can't lay under there to replace your own sensor,
if that is the only problem,I don't have any more to say
You don't need a shop to do that

Have a neighbor or relative do it

2003 beetle with ABS and brake light on. What should I do?

so all std brakes are good? pads, rotors and calipers? if not and are bad ABS goes mad, ABS is last to fix, not first OK>
abs can not hid for example, a brake caliper piston rusted to *****
after 19 years..old.(and will be that old I say how can it no be so?>)
all that and not one DTC posted (ALL) HERE ? amazing this...

and when you replace any part here, reset the all DTC now with the scan tool, buy one, you can not fix (diy) modern cars with no tool.
or rotor guide pins seized, fix the mechanical brakes first.!!!
they all must be good, end to end ,sure a weak pad (a tad) the ABS can hide it. well kinda. (normal wear yes, ugly no)
or take the car to a real brake shop and watch them and learn the craft and skills. or take An ASE brake course.
nobody here can guess what is wrong or done wrong, that be impossible other than a simple pep talk,.

Code c 2204 esb bas light stays on

Hi there:

DTC C2204 - Dynamics Sensor Internal

This light is on most likely due to a speed sensor failure. Either the rear one in the rear diff housing or the right or left front speed sensor. You will need someone with a full level scan tool to scan the ABS module to find which sensor it is and then replace that sensor accordingly.

The location of the Dynamic internal sensor: It is located in lower part of the centre console . exactly on the right side of the air bag module.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable from its battery post.
2. Remove the instrument panel center stack console.

3. Roll back the front floor carpet from under the instrument panel toward the rear of the vehicle for access to components.
4. Remove the fasteners (2), then instrument panel center support brackets (2). There is one bracket on each side of tunnel structure.

5. Disengage the right intermediate floor distribution duct (2) from the stud located on the floor support (3) and move it aside as necessary to access the dynamics sensor.

6_27_2012_8_55_44_pm.jpg

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (3) at the dynamics sensor (2).
  2. Remove the screws (1) mounting the dynamics sensor to the mounting bracket on the floor pan tunnel (4).
  3. Remove the dynamics sensor (2).

Hope this helps.

Speedo suddenly not working and two warning lights appeared on dashboard one being ABS light warning light.

If the ABS (and likely the traction control) light came on at the same time that the speedometer stopped working, you likely have a faulty wheel speed sensor at the right rear wheel. You can test this by swapping the two rear wheel speed sensors (ABS sensors). If the speedometer then works (but the ABS & Traction control lights stay on), replace the sensor that is now at the left rear (was at the right rear). If no change, you may have a fault in the ABS & Traction control - control unit.

1997 VW Golf GTI 2 Litre. The ABS light comes on

Hello, My 2000 2.0 Golf just recently had the same problem. I would feel the ABS pump working at certain times through the accelerator pedal. I found the right rear sensor failed the Bentley manual continuity test . After removing it I found it was pretty rusted. The sensor head is located inside the rear brake disc hub area and this probably explained this rust. The rust probably worked its way into the sensor body where you can't clean it and thus the resistance value went above specification. I ordered mine through Autohaus and cost me just over $50.00 for both rear sensors. Even though my drivers side was good I replaced it at the same time. The ABS light hasn't been on for 4 days now..

Abs light stays on the last few days. Just bought 2 months ago and the company told me that it has new windshield and new BRAKES all around

check the brake fluid level,if it gets low that will set the light on.also the rear abs sensors used to go bad.check the wiring to the rear sensor(located on the top center of the rear axle.

ABS and Brake Light on

Sounds like you have a bad sensor. No you can not hurt anything by driving with the light on, but you do want to try to keep your warning lights clear

ABS WARNING LIGHT ON VOLVO V70 1997

ABS light comes on with ignition then should go off when you start the car.
If abs sensor does not turn off after disconnecting the battery, then there is a real problem, a faulty sensor or ABS malfunctioning.
When the ABS led comes on immediately after you start the car and stays on usually is one of the relays.
The main one is called surge arrester relay, if it is faulty usually there have been an overvoltage.
There should be two more, usually located behind the black plastic cover of the ABS.
Testing and changing the faulty relay can fix the problem.

If light turns off on startup, and comes back on when you reach some speed, usually you need to check the wheel sensors. You test them unplugging the sensor located behind the wheel and testing it for continuity with a multimeter.
Use Haynes manual to find locations and specs of relays.
Contact a qualified mechanic if you cannot fix it yourself, problems with ABS may compromise safety of the vehicle.
