Looks like it is time to find someone who raise up the car and can spin or rotate the tires, to see if you have a tire 1) with flat spots or 2) that is coming apart.
There is also a problem occasionally that a bad front wheel bearing can "howl". The vibration in the steering wheel should mean one of your front tires is out of balance, but check above #'s 1 & 2.
God bless your attempts.

Steering wheel vibration is often caused by:

  • Out of balance tires
  • Bent wheels
  • Bad wheel or CV bearings
  • Loose suspension parts
"Road noise" is often caused by:
  • Bad wheel bearings or bad CV joints
I suggest checking for all of these.

My steering wheel is shacking at 35 - 50.

Sounds like a bent wheel or a tire out of balance - one of the front tires/wheels. The shaking happens when you get to a speed that causes a sympathetic vibration in the suspension or steering joints. If there doesn't seem to be any vibration or back and forth movement of the steering wheel at slower speeds, I'd lean toward the tire being out of balance.

Road noiseSounds like unbalanced wheel

If it is unbalanced, it should vibrate on the steering wheel. you should rewrite your problem and include car type, speed that it happens. Also take off any hubcaps and rotate tires front to rear and see if it changes.

Whining from front left seems to be the tire, steering wheel slightly vibrates when turning left

If you swerve the car back and forth and the sound dissapeers when swerving to the left( reducing the weight on front left tire) this could indicate a wheel bearing problem

The past week my car, specifically the front end has been vibrating especially the steering wheel whenever I drive over 60 mph. At first I thought it was just because there was ice frozen around the struts...

High speed steering wheel vibrations and wobbling are almost always due to an unbalanced tire. Start there, cheap, and then move onto more expensive front end part repairs. If you have those silly mag type big wheels which collect and hold gunks of ice in them, then this is what you can expect.

Front wheels vibrate - only within past week - think its deeply embedded snow/ice - could it be alignment or other?

Hello christoph233: My name is Roger and I will help you. First if the wheels are packed with mud or snow this will cause a vibration. If the car drifts to one side or the other? This would be alignment problem. Should the steering wheel twitch from side to side? This could be a bent wheel or a seperated tire. Also dhould the car feel like it is trying to dance side to side while driving at a slower speed? Then I would look at the rear tires as the problem

Vibration in the steering wheel on a 4wd truck

I just had the same issue with a 1999 2500HD and the vibration got worse above 50 mph. Problem was resolved with a new driveshaft. Old one (aluminum) was badly out of true and the problem didn't really occur until I had the U joints changed - then bent driveshaft vibration was noticeable. New driveshaft resolved issue.

Hi, I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla the steering wheel vibrates at any speed.Did wheel alignment but aint got better. Pls advise. Cheers, Anks

Vibration or a "shimmey" is an indication that the tires need to be balanced. This is not related to the wheel alignment you had done A poorly balanced tire will vibrate on its own, transferring the vibration all the way through the steering wheel. Have the tires balanced. If this doesn't fixy your issue, then the problem lies between the rotors (could have a warped rotor) and the rack and pinion. Best of luck on your problem.

2002 Caddy DeVille - slight vibration 60 to 75 mph

I would guess incorrectly tightened or installed wheel bearing. Or it might just need to get greaced.

2000 Cav wheel noise/vibration

Sounds like one of the bands inside the tire could be busted.
Solution - new tire.
Get the tracking checked as well.
It also could be a ball joint.
But that can be checked when you get the tracking sorted.
