Go to ebay I bought two new outer handles and two inners for my '97 accent. They are five bucks a piece you can't beat it and free shipping. Take the inner panel apart if you're going to change them yourself. You have the mirror guard that pops right off with a flathead screwdriver, then unscrew every philips-head bolt on the panel there should be roughly four screws. Then once you remove the panel, two 10 mm bolts for the handle which are inside the door are what hold the handle on. You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Check and see if you are getting spark to the plugs first.
Also re-check the computer for codes and see how many are back.
Trouble codes are suggestions, not solid instructions.

A clicking sound with no cranking, while trying to start your engine, is usually a sign of a bad starter. Have it checked out.

Start with the cigarette lighter fuse. Usually on the same circuit.

Sounds like the timing is off in your car. In the Accent's if the timing is not set perfectly when it is put back in the car will not start

when the airbag light is on it is disabled.
a scan tool can read the codes that are turning the light on,
a common problem is clockspring in the column.

sounds a bit like a problem I had with mine - had a crank position sensor replaced after trying allsorts and it sorted it for me - all good since.

near the radiator cap.  However, this won't make the car overheat.  Have you filled and bled the cooling system?

i would tend to think it was electrical possibly the coil they overheat sometimes and will kill the firing feel the coil and the resistor under the coil to see if they are more than just warm if they are that could be the problem
