it may be the cam sensor or the crank sensor. take an ohm meter to check them to see if they are any good

Look on the throttle body for a little cylinder with an electrical connector on it. Use the handle of screwdriver to give that a few whacks while someone starts the engine after it starts, give a few more whacks. Engine running now? Replace the Intake Air Control motor. or IAC.

Disconnecting the vehicle battery can set fault codes in the computer for "INTERNAL MEMORY KEEP ALIVE MEMORY (KAM) ERROR" (code P0603) or "SYSTEM VOLTAGE LOW" (code P0562). These codes do not normally cause the check engine light to come on unless they are "active" codes, meaning that the problem is occuring on THIS ignition cycle.
The check engine light coming on is most likely not related to the battery having been replaced. However, I have seen wierder things! I would recommend scanning your engine computer (OBD codes) and find out which fault codes are present. If there are no codes other than the ones described above, then clear the codes with the scanner and turn the ignition off then restart the engine to see if the light comes back on. If it does, then there is most likely a problem with your battery or battery cables.
If any types of codes other than those mentioned above are present, then each code must be diagnosed to find the cause.

Hello
The engine
and transmission in this cars drive train are fully
electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train
Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer
stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions
to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and
MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory,
to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned
with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must
perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the
problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN
HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPEDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON
PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM
