My 1989 Gulfstream Classic High Rise Motorhome RV will not shift out of the park position. There is no emergency brake pedal in this RV? I believe it is the Model 8342, but it did not come with a manual (so looking for a manual as well)...Please help..
Move is down hill or up hill, try to move may help and put some wood under wheel then try.
Testimonial: "I'm on a flat lawn right now, I can move the gear handle out of the park position, but the rig is not moving & wheels are not spinning. It feels like the rig is stuck in park with brakes locked. There is no brake release lever or brake release pedal like in a normal vehicle for the emergency/parking brake."

SOURCE: shift lever is on park but it won't shift to drive
Check all your fuses and run a code checker at Auto zone to see if any trouble codes are detected if not the shift lever release solinoid is in need of replacing or servicing.

safety switch on brake pedal. common cause is a wire breaking off. there are 1 to 2 wires going to this switch. It is located on the brake pedal bracket above the foot pad.

It might be the lock sensor. To get you where you need to go there is a bypass sometimes you have to take a small little cover off to get to it and use a the key or a small screw driver

If it is floor shift it has a soloind under the cover not to hard to remove, you have to memove the whole thing bolt in front cupholder and inside armrest storage. once it has removed there is a soloind in there that mounts on the shifter. this goes bad alot. Push the button on the silver soloind button this will release it into gear. Hope this helps. ( Usually he black soloind goes bad)
