2002 mercury mountaineer had a grinding noise when i backed up and turned the wheel to the right, I took it to the ford dealer and they said my transfer case, tie rod on one side and my brakes and bea

I would take it back and tell them you just spent 3k and they didn't fix it. And you dont feel it should cost you anymore for them to fix it. If it is making a noise how can they say there is nothing wrong? Could be as simple as a brake backing plate rubbing the brake rotor. It may have got bent slightly when they replaced the bearings and other parts.

Engine light on? If so, have it scanned for free at Auto Zone. Get codes only. Sounds like you cat. converters are stopped up. When this happens the engine can't breathe so it shuts down.

My A/C compressor shuts off after an hour (sometimes longer) of driving on a hot day.

I would get it checked by another mechanic shop, I suggest a complete AC service with freon, oil and dye every 5 years... The oil keep the compressor lubricated.... Also, there is always a 10-15% tolerance level in freon amount to be filled in. Auto compressor shut off is a built in safety feature that kicks in when pressure is too high in the system..... If you are in OC,Socal, let me know

Look under the car when it stops and after the engine is turned off, do you see a lot of water dripping under the car on the passenger side? If so the AC evaporator core is freezing up and the pressure switch is defective. If scenario this is not the case then you may have either a sticking compressor magnetic clutch relay or the magnetic clutch closing coil is shorted when it is hot.

Ignition switch change out. 2002 Mountaineer

There are different releases for some designs. Column cover needs to be removed on side of switch, phillips heads and some plastic snaps make it that complete cover has to be out of way. There is pin release usually on bottom of lock tumbler, some need paper clip to be pushed inside for key tumbler to be released. Some have small spring loaded button to be pressed externally. The housing for switch to attach to column can be adjustable with slots that are important. Scratch position marks on column to allow for remount of new switch in same position. The timing (up or down) is dependent on how everything aligns with gearshift lockouts like starter working in Park or Neutral and showing proper gear. These adjustments are a pain and can be avoided by scratching a mark on the column before removing the old part. Some parts do not have the slotted style and fit in a fixed hole for the bolts to attach it. Finally, be careful with the electric connectors so you do not break a tab.

In my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer my hazard lights work inside on dash and outside in vehicle but my turn signals does not work left or right from inside the dash or outside can you tell what is wrong

https://s17.postimg.org/rszkodgnj/turn_signal.jpg Click on the link. See the lite blue wire that carries voltage from flasher to multifunction switch, with the turn signal on, that wire should be hot, use a test light to check for voltage. If wire is hot, I think the multifunction switch has a problem. If it isn't hot, I think the flasher has a problem or that wiring circuit.
