It sounds like you have a bad charging cable for the GPS or the cable is overloading the cigarette lighter.

The cigarette lighter is designed for less power then a 12v power outlet.

Therefore it is easy to blow the fuse for the cigarette light if you install something that draws too much power.

What fuse is the one for the cigarette lighter/power supply?

The fuses in the engine compartment are not the ones that run the internal electrical circuits. IF you go to autozone website you can make a free account and then put in the year, make and model and then look for the free repair guides.

it may be just a blown fuse, check the fuses in the fuse box, if the cigarette lighter does'nt get hot it could be the unit is burnt out & needs to be replaced......hope this helps......cheers.

I have a 2001 saturn sl1 and my cigarette lighter doesn't work sos~~ from california lady

Check the fuse for the cigarette lighter, replace with same value. Fuse box is either in the glove box, under the driver side dash or left side dash with driver door open.

Cigarette Lighter does not give out power when plugging in GPS, Cell Charger, iPod Charger, etc. How do I fix?

chances are that it is just a blown fuse, which is very common, it is fuse #46 and is a 15amp fuse, location of fuse panel is under drivers side, most garages will do for no charge, but if you would like to try yourself, ownersmanual will show you fuse layout and look for #46, pull and see if it is blown 44e3364.gif

Can't plug in GPS. No Power to lighters

It's likely just a fuse. Look in the owners manual and find which fuse powers the cigarette lighter, remove it and check to see if it's blown. If so replace it.

CIGARETTE LIGHTER

It could be as simple as a blown fuse, could also be a bad socket or bad connections.
