You would probably need to change leads as well and or run an injector cleaner through and take a long drive to get it through nice. Pretty shaw leads though.

2001 accent Change plug distributer also Vehicle start well.drive when come speed braker accelerate it start jerking and some time off between the road. So tensed due ro this problem.

If your 2001 Hyundai Accent starts well but begins to jerk and sometimes stalls when you accelerate after slowing down for speed bumps or other reasons, it might indicate a few potential issues that need to be addressed. Here are several steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the problem:
  1. Check the Fuel System: Dirty or clogged fuel injectors can cause poor acceleration and engine performance. A clogged fuel filter can also lead to insufficient fuel supply to the engine, causing it to stall or jerk.
  2. Inspect the Ignition System: Since you've mentioned changing the plugs and distributor, ensure they are correctly installed and functioning. Faulty spark plugs, a bad distributor cap, rotor, or ignition wires can lead to misfires during acceleration.
  3. Air Intake System: A dirty or clogged air filter can restrict airflow to the engine, affecting its performance. Also, check for any leaks or cracks in the air intake hoses. A vacuum leak can cause the engine to run poorly, especially at idle or when accelerating.
  4. Exhaust System: A clogged catalytic converter can cause engine performance issues, including stalling and jerking, because it restricts the exhaust flow out of the engine.
  5. Check Engine Codes: If your vehicle's check engine light is on, use an OBD-II scanner to read any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the vehicle's computer. These codes can give you specific clues about what's causing the problem.
  6. Fuel Pressure: A weak fuel pump or problems with the fuel pressure regulator can result in insufficient fuel pressure, leading to engine stalling or jerking under load. Checking the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge can help diagnose this issue.
  7. Transmission Issues: If your Accent is an automatic, transmission problems can sometimes mimic engine issues. Make sure the transmission fluid is at the correct level and condition. Old or burnt fluid needs to be replaced.
  8. Idle Air Control Valve (IACV): If the engine stalls at idle or when decelerating, the IACV might be dirty or faulty. This valve controls the engine's idle speed.
Given the variety of potential causes, it might be beneficial to start with the simplest and most affordable solutions first, such as checking and replacing air and fuel filters if necessary, before moving on to more complex issues. If the problem persists after you've gone through these steps, or if you're not comfortable performing them yourself, it may be best to seek the assistance of a professional mechanic who can diagnose and repair the issue.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana minivan that is misfiring stalling and cutting out. I put in fuel additive thinking it might be the injectors and premium gasoline . Could this be a bad fuel filter?

It could be a timing issue (misfire) but it absolutely could also be either air or fuel filter. If it's starving for fuel, it's the fuel filter. If it's starving for air (too rich), it would also stall out and that could be the air filter. Basically, you need 4 things to make an engine work: compression, air, fuel, and spark.

Ai have a 88 chevy s-10 blazer it stall when i drive a block like it starts to cut out does it need a fuel filter, if so is it under the truck or does it need spark plugs only or does air filter only...

I suggest a full tune up.

1. Air filter.
2. Fuel filter, carbureted engine filter is located inside the line fitting where it attaches to the carburetor. Fuel injected engine filter is located in-line under the truck near the tank.
3. Oil and filter.
4. Spark plugs and wires.
5. Distributor cap and rotor if applicable.
6. PCV valve.

I have a 1999 hyundai accent and the car stalls when driveing it, is their a fuse that controlls the spark for the timming on the engine. We have already changed the coil pack, sparkplug wires and the...

No ,,No fuse controling spark,,Your coil pack on top of motor could be cracked and causeing this or your fuel filter, or fuel pump, you could get a pressure test done to your pump at a garage,Check your spark plugs, change them if you can, change the fuel filter a good place to start,,,,,,,,,,,,Also is there a check engine lite on in the dash cluster? If so go to Auto Zone parts store and get a code scan done its free,,than they will give you a print out of the codes and what needs to be replaced,,most vehecles in the 90,s have or need 02 sensors that control your air fuel mixture,,,were talking gas mileage here.

Where can I find the fuel filter on my 2000 Hyuddai Accent? I have changed the spark plugs because the car would not start, either cold or hot engine. The car is now starting but not immediately.

Want to change the fuel filter? I will provide you the steps on how to replace the fuel filter. This is how to do it.
1. Remove the lower rear seatcushion by pushing the two small black retaining tabs--located on the bottomfront of the seat--while pulling the seat cushion up and then forward. Pry upthe inspection plate, located below the seat cushion, using a screwdriver. (Itmay be necessary to cut the black sealer used to attach the cover with a sharpknife before prying the cover out.) Be careful not to break the wiring underthe cover. 2. Disconnect the fuel pump wiringfrom the fuel pump by squeezing the locking tab on the plug while pulling up onthe connector. Start the engine and let it run until it stalls. 3. Disconnect the negative batterycable from the battery, located in the driver side front of the enginecompartment, using a 10-mm wrench. Position the cable away from the battery toprevent accidental contact while the fuel filter is being removed and replaced. 4. Depress the quick disconnectbutton located on the end of the fuel lines and twist while pulling to removethem from the old filter. Unclip the filter from the bracket it is snapped intoand remove the fuel line on the bottom of the filter. 5. Push the fuel lines onto thenew filter until they snap into place. Reconnect the negative battery cable.Prime the fuel filter by turning the ignition key to the run position and backto the off position three times. This will fill and pressurize the fuel system.Start the engine and check for leaks. Reinstall the fuel pump cover and rearseat.

Car randomly stalls when i stop or even while i drive

It sounds like your fuel filter is clogged or your fuel pump is going bad. When this happens see if you can hear if your fuel pump is running. Turn the key forward to the run position and listen near the gas tank. you should hear a vibrating sound. If you don't hear it at all the pump of pump relay is bad. If you hear it continually your fuel filter, pressure regulater, or fuel line have problems.

My w reg hyundi accent judders and nealry stalls when turned on

Could be a number of things. The best way to find out is testing different things. First thing would be to change fuel filter, plugs, wires, check spark, It may be a faulty regulator, camshaft sensor, or other sensor. It may be plugged PCV valve or leak vacuum line.

2.8 multiport 1989 camaro

Hi, this is normally a fuel transfer issue. i recommend changing the fuel filter and fuel pump if not done already. I also would change the air filter as well.this will help with the air and fuel flow.

If possible, it would help even more if you would change the spark plugs and wires as well.

To top it off, Add a fuel system cleanser. Techtron makes some of the best fuel additives on the market. This type of fuel system cleaner will scrub the fule lines and intake as well, in return, cleaning out all carbon deposits that may be causing spuddering and obstructions.
