SOURCE: 2002 Ford Escape will not shift into drive

This is the shift lock...you will need battery to release it electrically but there is an over ride by the shifter..either a button to push or a place to put your ignition key. This will release the shifter

SOURCE: I have a 1966 Ford Falcon with a C4 transmission.

I would begin by replacing the filter if its not new, 2 possibility of issue, faulty shifting module or defective transmission rebuilt. just because it has been rebuilt does not mean the individual work on it did a good job. the less cost effective way is to locate used modulator from ebay or junk yard, if that does not rectified the issue than more likely it will be the tranny. the bad part is that I dont know of a company offer a bench test for the tranny modulator.

2002 Ford explorer XLS no reverse only goes forward in 3rd gear

your 2002 Ford Explorer XLS is only going forward in 3rd gear and not reversing, it could be caused by several issues. Here are a few possible causes:
  1. Transmission control module (TCM): The TCM controls the shift patterns for the transmission, and if it is not functioning properly, it could cause the transmission to become stuck in 3rd gear.
  2. Shift solenoids: The shift solenoids control the flow of fluid to the transmission, and if one or more of them are not functioning properly, it could cause the transmission to become stuck in 3rd gear.
  3. Valve body: The valve body controls the flow of fluid to the transmission, and if it is clogged or malfunctioning, it could cause the transmission to become stuck in 3rd gear.
  4. Linkage: The linkage connects the shifter to the transmission, and if it is loose or damaged, it could cause the transmission to become stuck in 3rd gear.
  5. Automatic transmission filter and fluid: If the filter is clogged or the fluid is dirty or low, it could cause the transmission to become stuck in 3rd gear.
It's important to keep in mind that these are just a few possible causes and that there may be other issues that are preventing your Ford Explorer from going into reverse. It's best to take it to a qualified transmission specialist if you're unable to diagnose the issue.
It's also important to note that some of these steps require a certain level of mechanical knowledge and experience. If you're not comfortable with checking these items, it's best to consult a professional mechanic.if i was able to help my cashapp $ralphpapi thank you have a blessing day

Dodge caravan

Both error codes you have are transmission related. P0736 is an error for reverse has wrong gear ratio. P0700 is a general transmission problem code

2-3 shift solenoid circuit

P0758 Chevrolet P0758 Chevrolet - 2-3 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve
- 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve harness or connectors
- 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve circuit is open or shorted
What does this mean? When is the code detected?
When the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) valve circuit, then DTC P0758 sets.
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Transmission will not shift gears
P0758 Chevrolet Description
The 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) valve controls the fluid flow acting on the 2-3 shift valves. The 2-3 SS valve is a normally-open exhaust valve that is used with the 1-2 SS valve in order to allow four different shifting combinations. The solenoid attaches to the control valve body within the transmission. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the solenoid by providing the ground path.

CAN I AKS A QUESTION, FOR A PROBLEM CODE P0733 FORD EXPLORER 2002 XLT

P0733 indicates which gear has a gear ratio that varies from the correct gear ratio, the corresponding in-gear trouble code ranges from DTCs P0731-36.

Without taking apart the transmission and inspecting for damage, it is difficult to say what the exact problem is, but many people who get the P0733 code have fixed the problem by replacing the accumulator in the transmission.

Other possible causes include:
  • ATF level low
  • Deteriorated ATF
  • Shift solenoid B or F malfunction
  • Pressure control solenoid malfunction
  • Line pressure low
  • Low clutch slipping
  • High clutch slipping
  • Control valve malfunction
  • Oil pump malfunction
  • TCM malfunction

No reverse, forward gears work fine whats the fix? Heard that 2000 ford windstars have alot of tran problems.

HI. the most important issue here is to make sure the transmission fluid is at a optimal level. If the fluid level is good, it can be another problem that is causing this disruption. The second place i would check would be the transmission shift cable and linkage. if you have some play in the shifter, this could be the issue. the linkage and cable may need to be adjusted. The last problem spot with this tranny could be bad or malfunctioning shift solenoids. these devices receive signals from the emc that initiates the shift action once you use the shifter. if one of these solenoids are malfunctioning, it can cause a disruption of normal shifting. i would check these areas.

please rate and god bless...
