If it is engine related, the code is for the #1 fuel injector. If it is transmission related, It means that the output signal circuit of shift solenoid 2 is open or shorted causing a no shift concern. I hope this info helps!

SOURCE: my 1991 Subaru Legacy won't go into gear

Does it go into gear ok when its not running? When its running does it grind when you try to put it in gear? Does clutch feel firm or soft when you push it in? If you can shift all gears when its not running then its a clutch problem. If you can't than its a transmission problem. Is it a hydrolic clutch or mechanical? I can only guess and i won't do that, i need this info to help you.

How do I remove and replace the speedometer on a 1991 suburu legacy wagon I have a code for VSS2 which is the speedo speed sensor

The speed sensor is located on the transmission output . I don't think the problem is in the dash. Go to YouTube and type in where is the speed sensor on a 1991 subaru legacy and it will bring up all related videos. Hope you find this useful.

1991 subaru legacy has a loss of power timing spot on fuel filter changed

If there is any kind of pinging going on especially when going uphill, try retarding the timing 2 degrees. Make sure your plug together the two green connectors on the firewall, driver's side, when checking the timing, or you may already know that. take care.

Do Subaru Legacy 1991, have cam belts that need reg replacing

yes they have a timing belt and should be changed every 60k. now honestly everyone is different but ill tell ya what subaru are the easiest and simplist to work on almost nothing to them and they run forever.but that is my opinion.ah prices all pending where you live but i wouldn't charge more then $300-350 to change one.it is about 3 hours to change for sohc and 4 for dohc estimate about $80-100 for most shops now a days. The belt runs about $50-60 bucks but sometimes pending mileage i would change out the belt tensioner they run about 100 buck so be prepared. but youll prolly never have to change it again though.like i said they last for ever!!!
