You can search your particular vehicle schematic or find it in a chiltons or haynes book look for the engine schematic and the wire will be connected to your #1 coil + wire on separate coils if you have coil packs for 3-4 plugs each there should be 3 wires 2+ones 1-return find the + associated with the #1plug

IT'S A BLUE WIRE ON THE BACK OF THE CONNECTOR THAT WOULD NORMALLY GO TO THE FACTORY TACHOMETER IN THE DASH. YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE DASH GAUGE CLUSTER TO GET AT THE CONNECTOR. THE CONNECTOR WILL NOT BE PLUGGED INTO ANYTHING IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FACTORY TACHOMETER (DX, CX, HX ETC...YOU WILL HAVE TO SPLICE INTO OR CUT THE BLUE WIRE FROM THE PLUG. IT GOES TO TACH SIGNAL WIRE ON YOUR NEW TACH.

how to install a tach
SOURCE: wher to connect the green wire from sun tachometer
i believe to hook it to the alternator to field 2 on 88 and up,the distributor has a coil that connects to the intake manifold separate from the distributor
SOURCE: I am trying to install an Autometer Tachometer in a 93 Nissan D21
the signal wire is coming from the distributor under the hood run the wire through the fire wall to that wire and as 4 the wire that lights up the tach piggyback that wire off of the cigarette lighter on the fuse box

I've got an install diagram for that around here somewhere but for now, the trigger wire to run the tach itself goes to the "tach" connection next to the "Bat" terminal on the distributor cap. one wire attaches to your dash lighting so it comes on with the dash lights and dims properly, the other wire is likely a ground. If I don't add to this later, try googling Sun electronics...I am fairly sure they have an install page.
