Car not starting in morning

My wifes 1999 Sunfire has had problems cutting out and surging , spent 700.00 at local GM dealer still no results. I read somewhere on the web try to changing the Throttle Position Sensor. Changing the TPS has worked both times to fix the problem, for some reason the TPS failure will not send a code. We have had the car since 2000 and the chinging of the TPS has solved the problems bothy times. The TPS at NAPA in Canada is 74.00 in the US most likely cheaper, try this first based on my experience, GM will not help all they do is read codes.

i had that problem once. when i got under half a tank of gas in the tank. What i did was i dumped one bottle of gas line deicer in the tank and i have never had it agian. you may have some water in the tank. from condasation or i have a stong feeling i got my water from the gas station. i was using the same station all the time. so i tryed another gas station and so far no more rough idleing which was caused by the water i think and i am getting better fuel milage to. i hope this helps.

It sounds like you have a short somewhere that is draining the battery...this type of thing is usually caused by a faulty voltage regulator. I recommend taking the alternator to an autoparts store to have it tested...don't be surprised if the alternator tests good; a faulty voltage regulator can and will drain a battery in a matter of hours. I am including a link where you can order a voltage regulator for your Bonneville or, while you are at the autoparts store, you can buy one there.
