This just happend to me in my 07 Equinox, and they told me it was the throttle body sensor going out, and need to replace the entire throttle body which for some reason isnt covered by even the extended warrenty. Your looking at about $700 bucks to fix if it that on yours also.

Your vehicle is equipped with vehicle stability control, what the system does is prevent the car from going out of control due to a skid, it does this by applying the brakes at each wheel very quickly to straighten the car out in the event of a skid like on ice or a wet road, the system is part of the ABS (Anti-lock brake system), when the light comes on and stays on it means that something has failed in the system and the computer that controls it has disabled the system

there having a lot of electrical issues with this vehicle.i would check the eng control module and the accelerator pedal sensor for corrosion in the connectors,if there corroded clean them with a soft brush and put dielectric grease on the connectors and modules.hope this helps.

That would be your computer system trying to tell you that there is a malfunction in your traction and stability control system. You will have to access the computer data in order to find out the nature of the failure and to diagnose the problem.

{: ) Most of the time the traction light is being triggered by imminent or pending engine trouble codes. If the engine issues are addressed first, the traction light may normalize eventually. A scan tool code search is the first best option for a quick diagnosis.
For the time being. you can do observations and take notes on whatever symptoms you may find about your vehicle performance, specially on the road. The more info you can share about the trouble, the better, because for the technicians, it will be a lot of help in their diagnosis.
