My friends automatic chevy impalla.. I think year 2005. Wouldn't go in reverse today. its been running fine I even drove it a few days prior and it seemed smooth. could a dirty connector or sensor cause this? we were going to change the fluid and probably add some Lucas additive tomorrow

It could be a faulty transmission solenoid or the oil level is to low. or weak and needs replacing. it could also be a blocked filter, it can even be the switch, this tells the solenoids through the auto box control unit what gear to select. the switch could be dirty or become out of line. there is a lot that can be the problem, but if it's ready for its oil and filter to be changed, then start this first as its always best to change the oil and filter.

SOURCE: O2 sensor problem, running rich. Please help

was the code for rich or lean? may try cleaning mass air flow sensor. it is in the air intake tube and has a flat wire connector. take out of tube and take four torx bolts out and clean with mass air flow cleaner or brake cleaner and put back in when dry. or it could be a bad wire on the o2 harness. look for chaffing or broken wires in harness by o2. also could be the exhaust system has a slight blockage. could also be some other things but try these first.

Well...my ball park guess on this is just a tune up. The engine light is usually showing a misfire. If the plugs are bad then the cylinder is not igniting the fuel and it is flooding out. With what is here this makes sense to me. Let me know what it does turn out to be.

Were is the fuel filter located on a 2005 jeep wrangler SE 2.4L

There is no external inline fuel filter, no manufacturer uses them anymore. There is a nylon fine mesh screen on the inlet to the electric fuel pump, it never needs to be serviced unless the fuel pump is being replaced. Most often even then you just wash it out in Stoddard solvent

Well, if it is doing all of that, the Check Engine light has GOT to be SCREAMING at you! Continuing to try to force the vehicle to operate under such conditions will only cause further damage to the vehicle. I would recommend getting the thing to where you can scan your onboard computer and find out what is going on.

92 suburban 454tbi running rough

Did you check to see what was inside th eold fuel filter? I ask because If your tank has water and or rust or trash of sufficient quanity it may already be clogging the new filter. The only other thing I think of is the automatic choke may be sticking causing the fuel mixture to be to rich.

Automatic transmission slipping 1994 honda accord

there are a few things to do b4 getting new tranny. i would first think of when the last time it was serviced was,if more than 2 or 3 years or 25000 miles since then have it serviced first for a few hundred dollars if you pay someone or about 65 if you do it.just change the filter and pan gasket and refill with appropriate fliud and amount.keep in mind this is only if you havnt drove it much since it started slipping...if it has slipped for more than a few days get a used or new one or have that rebuilt.
