SOURCE: locating and changing the fuel filter.
The built up pressure is about 6 p.s.i., you can relief the pressure by first unscrewing your gas cap and that familiar "hiss" sound is the pressure escaping from the tank. The fuel filter is in the engine compartment on the passenger side mounted on the firewall. You should see 2 hoses. I needed a 10mm & 17mm socket & wrench. You should see a small scew (10mm) on top of the hoses. There's residual pressure in the filter so you'll need a rag to mop up any gas that spills over. Take off the hoses (17mm) but be careful not to loose any of the brass washers on the top & bottom of the hose. Take off the mount if it helps you repositon & replace the filter. Screw everything back and that's it!

Its probably your speed sensor mounted on the back side of your transmission on top of the final drive gear. Its the sensor/plug located just under the shift linkage. Make sure its bolted down tight and check for any loose connections.

There is a warm up valve on the throttle body(should have 2 small coolant hoses). remove the valve and have someone start the car while you block the port to the valve on the intake. If that clears up the problem you can cut a piece of cardboard to mount in between the valve and intake.should straighten it out.
SOURCE: have a 1989 honda prelude si cant find fuel filter
Carbureted engines: Two filters; a small one is in the fuel line under the hood; a larger one is located at the rear, just inboard of the left rear wheel.
Fuel-injected engines: the filter is located in the engine compartment, against the firewall, just to the left (as you face the engine) of the throttle housing, and slightly lower (follow the fuel line from your fuel rail, where your injectors are, back to it). It has two fuel lines (in and out) going to it, and it is held in place by a clamp which bolts it to the firewall.
Hope this helps you find it.
