The vsc light keeps coming on along w/ the check engine light. we changed the 02 sensor & we put a new gas cap on. Is there anything else to check or look for ?

Your VSC system doesn't have anything to do with your gas cap, unfortunately. You're going to either need an OBD2 Scanner to read the messages for your check engine light or take it to a mechanic/dealership to read the code and reset that light. You can also go to Autozone if memory serves and borrow a scanner to see the codes. You can pick up scanners from amazon for 10-50 USD, or about 40 USD from Autozone. Your VSC system not working means that you're not going to have optimal stability while driving until you can get the system operational again. Note that since it's Toyota Proprietary, you will not be able to read the VSC codes with the scanner, just the standard check engine codes. If your vehicle's braking system still seems to work, it could be a sensor malfunction, but I would recommend you take your vehicle to a Toyota dealership (unfortunately) to see if they can find the fault. Both the Check Engine light and the Slip Indicator light on my 2009 Tacoma came on for no apparent reason. The truck has only 34,000 miles on it. After reading blogs on the internet by people having the same problem with their Tacoma, I tried the easiest potential fix first: just tighten the gas cap until it "clicks" and disconnect the positive cable from the battery for about 20 minutes. Bingo, that fixed the problem! Those simple actions saved me a trip to the Toyota dealer and who knows how much in charges by their service department.

they have knocked a pipe off somewhere its very tight under the bonnet ,take iit back and they will check it for you

First check and make sure your gas cap is tight, if this does not resolve the problem read below.
A vacuum hose has become disconnected, more than likely due to having your air filter replaced. The VSC and Check engine light typically don't come on until after 150-200 miles after the vacuum hose was pulled out.
The fix: on the right-hand-side of the engine compartment behind the big plastic housing that holds the air filter you will find a black rubber hose that is not connected to anything. Squeeze the finger clamp on the hose and slide the hose back onto the half inch nipple on the back of the air filter's plastic housing.
In order for the VSC and Check engine light to be turned off, you will need to open the fuse box, right-side of the engine compartment, and pull the 20 amp EFI fuse for 10 seconds. This will reset the system. The fuse location is marked on the lid of the fuse box, also I believe the EFI fuse is the only 20 amp fuse

As the car ages the 02 sensors can clog and need replacing, however check your gas cap first to be sure it is tightly secured.
If they are fouled, the 02 sensors will trigger the check engine lights and vsc lights to come on. An exhaust leak can also give a misread. The problem code will identify the suspect are and depending on location this can be as easy a fix as changing a spark plug, but you will have to find someone with a code reading device to determine what area is the problem.
On occaison you will also have a sticking throttle body mechanism at the back end of the large rubber sorkle under the hood. This area has a butter fly valve like an old carb which can stick and cause idling issues as well. You can sremove the snorkel and look inside to see the mechanism, then spray clean with carb cleaner while idling.
Changing one 02 sensor may cause the VSC light to come on again as the system readjust your fuel ratio mixture. Be patient and pay attention to the readings before changing all the sensors randomly.

VSC is Vehicle Stability Control. This is and electronic sensing which monitors and combines performance of braking, wheel slippage and handling, ect.
If this light comes on along with check engine light, it can be caused by a loose gas cap or faulty o2 sensor.

Yes it could be other problem but the 02 sensor is not the same as the VSC vechilce speed control. You may have two problems. The 02 Sensor should not be more than $75.00 and a half our labor at most. If it is something else it would or could get very expensive. The reason the light comeson is it's has a emmison problem.

You have an issue with the engine. The other lights come on when the Check Engine light comes on. The most common reason for the Ck Engine light on is a loose gas cap. If the cap is tight, you will need to find someone who can scan the car's ECU and give you the DTC code.
