SOURCE: I own a 2007 forester

the eject motor inside the unit is stuck, we see this if the unit is usely used as a one cd only unit then someone disides to install more then one cd it forces the cd changer to move into some uncharted territory, you can try this to reset the motor un-hook the battery for a min or two then hook it back up, make sure you have the unlock code before you do this, if this does not reset the unit then it is time to go to the dealer.....sorry, but the unit is non-serviceable

Disc will not load into subaru forester cd changer

This also happened to my 2002 WRX. I took the CD player out of the console and found a tiny spring (which I could not find) was not in its location, which would actuate the "play CD" switch inside. After a few hours I decided to reassemble the player and use it as a non-CD unit. The radio and cassette player still work, so I purchased a cassette MP3 player adapter so I can plug in my cell phone and play songlists.

My battery recently died and I had to get a new battery. Upon replacement of the new battery, by CD player stopped working. It is an 6 disc unit integrated with the AF/FM and is original equipment. When I...

I am very sorry to read your problem, but I'm afraid the unit is 'non-repairable'. I've seen this on more than 2 dozen Hyundai Sonata's. Replacing the battery had nothing to do with it... it's when the original/other battery went dead, the internal (already weakend/aged) circuits went permanently to sleep and will probably never wake up again. The 'reset' the dealer tried was merely removing power to the unit. In a sense, when your battery went dead and you replaced it, you also did a 'reset'.. but it wouldn't come back completely. The CD changer has known problems. The noise you hear is the CD Changer trying to 'boot up' so to speak. It's programmed to complete an internal 'Set Up' and "identification' of any CD's which may already be there -- it just quit working. Its Electronics have malfunctioned - basically the CD changer circuit board.

I get E-01 error of my cd changer

The fault is actually inside the CD changer, when one disc is selected the changer moves the gearing inside to slot from one CD to the other.
While this operation is happening the selection arm jams !!
Then giving an error at the radio display..

To fix the problem, disconnect the CD changer from the trunk of the car,
take off the top plastic slide cover,
with a small screwdriver slowly move the gearing so that the CD disc holder will move back to the load - unload position.

Pop out the CD holder.

Replace unit, reconnect the optic and power lead, switch on radio and the unit will work again,

grease the moving parts with light lubricant

Good Luck

We can't get the factory 6 disc cd player to load more than 1 disc. What is the sequence for loading additional discs?

The following is the owner's manual for your 2004 Dodge Neon:

http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html?year=2004&nameplate=Neon

P.99 describes how to load discs:

1. Select and press any numbered button without an illuminated light above it.
2. Insert the CD while the light above the chosen button is flashing and the two lights on either side of the slot are illuminated.
3. Upon insertion, the CD will begin to play, and both the button light and the lights in the corner of the loading slot will illuminate.
4. Repeat the process for loading any additional CDs. The CD playe rwill stop while additional CDs are loaded.

Playing Discs
The radio will show the CD number, the CD track number, and the Track Time Elapsed while the radio is in the CD mode. IF more than one CD is loaded in the changer, the changer will automatically play the next disc after playing the last track of the current disc.

Wow, that's a lot of typing.
I didn't know the 2004 Dodge Neon had such a nice changer.
Good luck.

6 disc CD changer is stuck

This happened to me a few years ago. It wouldn't eject the CD for a year. I literally smacked the side of the dash where the cd player is located and it came out the next time I pressed eject. I found that same solution in a couple of forums. I had to do it a few times. I think the CD just has to allign with something to eject properly.

CD player (6 disc changer) "locked up"

Take it to the dealership, your G35 should have a 4 year bumper to bumper on it. They'll replace the radio under warranty most likely.
