Bmw e36 316i won't start, but i think the crank position senssor works the fuel pump works, but if i remove one of the plug wire i can't see any spark ,so i then bought a new coil, but that did't make any difference. recently i replaced all the releys and fuses at no luck. no spark what could be the problem?

When were your spark plug wires last changed? And have you checked your ignition module? Crank shaft position sensor is another item to have checked.

I have a bmw e30 325i it cranks but will not start so what can I do to fix it?

Fuel Pump - can you here the pump (usually under the right hand back seat) running with ignition on?
Fuel Delivery (injectors) - squirt some fuel (just a cap full) into the manifold.
Spark - pull a lead off a spark plug and use a spare spark plug resting on the exhaust manifold.
Crank sensor - Injectors won't inject fuel if the ECU thinks the engine isn't turning. Crank sensor is at the front right lower side and as it gets older, the wire gets brittle and breaks most of the time where it meets the hard end. The connector is under the throttle body and should read 500-600 ohms.

Hello. My 1997 Chevy Tahoe refuses to start. The problems began with a bad fuel pump. I changed. It worked. The fuel pump died again. I changed it again and it has been working. I parked it for two weeks....

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires, don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start

Tell us what you checked & exactly how that was done.

Wont start

is the your car engine cranking when you try to start, first check spark plugs ignition coils, remove one ignition coil and spark plug fix the spark plug in to the ignition coil then connect ignition coil to wiring and keep spark plug body touching on ground of engine head mettle parts, ask some one to crank engine then you can see is the plug sparking or not, do the same way to all the coils and plug otherwise you have to buy a ignition spark tester, is the all the coils and spark plugs are OK then check the fuel pump, it's sitting in under rear seat, before that do one thing disconnect oxygen (O2) sensor wiring and crank engine, the thing is if your oxygen sensor completely dead fuel pump will stop working, if engine start after disconnect O2 sensor, replace new O2 sensor, otherwise need to check fuel pump relay fuse and fuel pump. is this information helped you? please vote me and give a comment.

Bmw will not start

if the car is cranking you should ensure that there is fuel supply, check at the shrader valve on the top of the fuel rail.if there is substantial amount of gas it is probably ok but you should really hook up a gas guage to ensure proper pressure,if there is no pressure check fuse 54 for fuel pump,if is ok remove rear seat and access fuel pump at r side of tank, remove connection and measure for 12v on the brown ( ground) wire and the red wire (power) these two wires are the largest,12v should be present when cranking the engine if there is no voltage present you may have a bad pump or a faulty fuel pump relay,if you have gas spark should be checked, remove a coil and a spark plug, examine the condition of the plug, if it is wet then your engine could also be flooding, plug in the coil and attach the plug to it, have somone crank the engine while you observe for spark(do not hold the plug at this point as it is dangerous) You must have both gas and spark to start a engine,If your engine is not cranking and is making a clicking sound you may have a bad starter,if there is no sound at all try a different key as the EWS or the immobilizer may have lost the code and doesnt recognize the key, Please attempt and let me know what happens, thanks

2003 BMW 325i - Car won't start. It will crank the (rrr rrr rrr)

Get a DTC scanner and see what it says...in the meantime, check that fuel pump relay and fuel pump. The humming sound is probably the heater blower motor or part of the HVAC system winding down after disconnecting from power.

Car starts then immediately idles down and shuts off

i have had the same problem at times. my car would start and then shut off. but i found that i needed oil and check my oil and it was a quater low put in some oil and everything went fine i notices that everytime the oil is low the same thing happens also depending on the position of the car being park meaning that if you are in a down hill position or up hill position i will do the same. so you have to accelarate for 1 minute to have the oil go up. i hope this works
