I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 and it has a factory CD/Radio Bose system. The radio works fine but can't get the CD player to work, it won't eject or load a CD. I recently had an ignition fusible link prob but I assume if it was connected should affect entire stereo sys. Anyone with an idea on this? SierraMan

Bro the factory radios are bunk i had the same problem on my 02. replaced it with aftermarket and couldnt be happier

You might have to take it to the dealership to have the radio reprogramed. it should only cost 40 bucks. these radios are very tempermental and have a mind of their own sometimes. My profesional recomendation would be to have an aftermarket cd player in. they are much nicer and have way better quality than the factory radio's

either your connectors need cleaning or maybe a break in the wiring. Is there on spot where both wires come together if so check there.If there is any plugs, pull them apart and clean them with contact cleaner

the lens is probly dirty, open it up and use a soft sock or soft cloth.

i cannot understand how you radio would work. These radios are coded throught data link to computer. the only way to get the stereo to work is to run a calibration program through the vehicle. then it should accept your new cd player. if the stereo's are the same then may I suggest you to take the radios appart and switch the parts that don't work like CD drive assembly and faceplate.but use your factory installed stereo as the main core, this should fix your isses and work fine since the calibration is for the origional factory stereo.

Installing an aftermarket stereo, spliced the wires and have everything connected including the remote wire to the factory amp wire but still no sound.

There is no remote wire on these newer trucks....03 and up....u have to buy the harness....although i didnt....i have an 03 gmc sierra and just pulled the schematic and matched the wires. And there is no programming to do on an aftermarket stereo.....I work for GMC and we cant program aftermarket stereos......if u buy the right harness ...and its over $100 then everything should work just fine.....and this does not disarm ur alarm system either....mine still works fine....hope this helps

You need to get a engine diagnostics check sounds like you had a blip somewhere on the system that has caused your radio to do this
