2005 Hyundai Elantra A/C not cooling

I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, and I have been having an issue with the A/C not always being cold. When I am driving on the freeway and they engine is running at higher RPM's the A/C work great and is cold. But when I am at stop signs or get into traffic on the freeway and I slow down the air from the A/C unit seems to be outside air temp or hotter. If anyone knows anything that would help that would be great. Thanks

Hi Victor Cornuaud, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Is the condenser fan coming on?

SOURCE: Engine cuts off in traffic when car slows.

Sounds like it could be an ignition module breaking down.

SOURCE: Air conditioning will not cool

find that low side of the A C lines and add with a gauge the proper amount you may have some but not enough NOT too MUCH its takes only one 14 ounce can max so add a little turn on car as you do this turn on ac full blast and see if it turns cool faster OK

I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and the A/C isn't blowing cold air. Compressor seems to be always engaged. I watched it for 10 minutes. Can someone tell me what the trouble could be please?

Have the A/C pressure tested, make sure the compressor is working even if the clutch is turning. Could be a bad compressor, not actually moving any freon. Also I have recovered freon from a system, and the freon was very low even showing good pressure and the compressor running but not cooling.

Why is the cooling fan always running when car gets warm on my 2003 hyundai elantra

It is easier to cool a warm engine that to cool an engine at almost over heat condition. So manufacturers run the fan as soon as the engine gets to operating temperature and that gives the cooling system more control of the heat in the system

My 2005 Hyundai elantra's brakes cannot stop the car

I am assuming you have vac assist brakes which uses a booster and vac from the engine. Sounds like the vac line between the booster and engine has ice or some foreign matter in it.

When my 2006 elantra is idle the hot air blowing out turns cold. Is this a common issue? What is the solution?

These cars use a thermostat that has a little check ball in it to let hot water past the thermostat to warm the interior even if the thermostat is not opened up yet. The ball could be sticking. Another possibility is that the fins on the water pump have corroded away, but your car isnt that old for that to have happened( I would hope) unless you have had your coolant replaced and whoever replaced it used city water instead of distilled water. Some water is acidic and could corrode internal parts. Alway use distilled water in a cooling system along with antifreeze.
Or you may have a loose water pump belt and at idle it is slipping.

2003 Hyundai Elantra: Air is only heated when the gas pedal is pressed (while on the highway the air becomes hot). When the pedal is released (slowing down/stopping) the air cools down to cold.

I had same issue. Turns out it was low on anti-freeze in the radiator. I added fluid and now have lots of heat!! Be sure to also add radiator fluid to the overflow tank too.

The radio and cigarette lighter have both lost power in my 2005 hyundai elantra. Does anyone have a diagram of the fuse box? Or even better, know which fuse corresponds to the radio/cig. lighter? I...

Many (= not all) fuse boxes have a chart molded into the case and the fuses can nearly always inspected visually to see if the fuse element is intact. The one that services those items is probably marked as 'accessories.'
