My 2002 dodge grand caravan starts fine, but it idles rough. It dies as soon as you put it in gear. Any suggestions on what may be wrong?

Vacuum leaks. ( hissing noise around the engine). Tune up (plugs and wires). clean the throttle body(inside of it). All these can cause rough idle. The dieing can be from transmission problems. Can you rev the van up and keep it running while in gear? Or does it die then too? You can replace the solenoid pack on the outside of the transmission for around $250, if you do it yourself. If you do this, DO NOT get any dirt in the holes of the transmission where the solenoid pack sets. Clean it well before you remove the old pack.

SOURCE: 2002 dodge grand caravan fuse box

The fuse box is located under the hood. There is component map printed on the inside of the cover. This tells you on your model where the fuse or relay is located

It would appear that the relay is located on the cross rail that runs across the front of the vehicle (in front of the radiator). I found out that it is riveted in place by a single rivet, so in order to replace mine, I will have to remove the rivet and use a self-tapping screw to secure a new one.
The fan relay is located in the fuse panel located under the hood beside the battery. It will be marked under the lid. Make sure you check the maxi fuse for the fan also.

My 2000 Caravan started running rough and then died this am. It restarted but as soon as it is put into any gear it dies. Any suggestions?

you could have a fuel pump problem or plugged filter.you should have the fuel pressure and volume checked with a gage and container that has a measuring marks on the side to know what the volume is .the pressure should be about 35lbs and volume should be about 700 to 1litre of fuel as if either one is not within specs the car will not run.i`m guessing that there is no codes in the ecm(computer)that may help in diagnoises.

Running problems

Idle air control valve or a vacuum leak, the idle air control valve controls the amount of air let into your engine when you start or while running you holding your foot on the gas lets more air in.

'92 dodge caravan dies at operating temperature

With the difference in years, there maybe a difference in alot of things. I'd start with mking sure every sensor, injector, everything links up properly to the 99 caravan pcm. If it's seeing the wrong info it will be a no go. Sounds like it's thinking it's -40 outside(foot to the floor to start) this indicates the coolant temp sensor maybe screwy. Let me know what you find, and about any other changes or issues.
