Front passenger window has not worked since a freeze in 2009 winter. Switches on driver and passenger sides do not activate the window motor. The circuit breaker must be ok because the driver's side window operates just fine.
I have a 2000 silverado and the windows usally go down fine. but when i roll them up i have to hit the button repeatally to get them to go up. this ison both windows. any suggestions
REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TO GET TO THE WINDOW MOTOR. REMOVE THE CONNECTOR ON THE MOTOR. LOOP A TEST LIGHT FROM BOTH TERMINALS. WITH THE KEY ON AND BOTH SWITCHES IN PLACE, CHECK TO OPERATION OF THE SWITCHES. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON IN BOTH DIRECTION THE WINDOW MOTOR IS BAD.
THERE IS A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUILT INTO THE WINDOW MOTOR. SOMETIME HITTING THE MOTOR WITH MAKE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET BUT THE MOTOR WONT LAST LONG DOING THAT.
ALSO TRY PULLING DOWN ON THE WINDOW WHILE TRYING THE SWITCHES. THE WINDOW COULD JUST BE STUCK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME.
Testimonial: "Thanks, BB1BUD. I ended up replacing the entire regulator with a part I ordered online. So far so good."
2004 Silverado 2500HD the right side windows and the power seat are on the same power source but seperate from the left windows. If you hot wire them at the right side dash access panel you can make them work. But I don't know where the breaker is located.

Yes, after a lot of trouble-shooting, I ended up replacing the regulator. You can find good photo and video instructions online. I got the part on an eBay store:http://www.partspros.com/
