Radio Problem? Radio was working fine, suddenly stopped working with only low noise coming out of driver dash speaker. Removed speaker from right passeger side and tested it and works fine. Been told possibly factory amplifier went bad. How can I test amp without removing and how do I remove if found bad?

Vehicle has a Boston Acoustics sound system. comment on noise, I mean is very low volume coming from radio.

Chrysler has tied radio amp seperate from radio circuit. Check all fuses . Look for definitions on fuse cover, one should include amp in description.

Testimonial: "Where can I find a diagram for the fuses as I do not have an owners manual. Are there more fuses under the hood related to the factory amplifier?"

First you need to know if you DO even have a factory preminum system.

Testimonial: "It does have Premium Sound. Boston Acoustics sound system."

SOURCE: Fog lights

check fuse #7 in the fuse block inside the vehicle and fuse #25 in the fuse block under the hood...more than likely you blew one of these fuses when it sparked. as for the drivers side being inop once you replace the blown fuse if you have a test light check for voltage at the bulb connector...the light assembly itself may be bad

SOURCE: blower motor not working 1994 jeep cherokee

Sounds like your blower motor rheostat needs to be replaced. I'm about to replace mine for the second time. Fan just quits working altogether when the rheostat goes.

SOURCE: removal of dash and factory stereo

This is an easy fix. Use a flat head screwdriver andpry out the center stack where the heating and air controls are. this will just pop out. From there there are a few screws to to remove to get the cover off around the stereo.

Why does my radio not work

If the radio is turning on but no sound.

!. The wires behind the radio for the speakers are lose
2. If they are on a wire harness make sure the wire harness is plugged in right. " you might have to unplug and re-plug it back in
3. The best way to check you speakers is use a 9v battery. Un Plug them from behind the radio touch the positive side of the battery. You should get a little noise.
4. If you have a electrical meter you can check each of the wires coming out of the radio make sure you have it on the DC volts to check everything. " making sure you have power coming out of each speaker wire from the radio." Hope this helps out

When i turn my radio on there is a buzzing noise in the left speakers with no sound the right ones work fine this just happened all of a sudden what could be the problem?

sounds like you have a short, one of the wires may have come loose and has grounded out. You'll have to use a process of elimination to find it.

Speakers not working good

The door buzzer chime is on the fuse box cover over the clutch/brake pedal. Trust me, you will enjoy not having it, i removed mine. As far as the radio...on my contour, there is a inline dash amplifier beneath the dash. If you have an aftermarket radio, i would pull the radio out and check the connections. A Haynes Manual #36006 has proven to be very useful with the wiring schematics. Good luck..98contourSVT
