SOURCE: 2001 Suburban ABS motor staying on after ignition is off

what you have is a ABS module that has shorted out internally. you have to replace that module and then bleed the ABS pump AND the brakes at all wheels.

Testimonial: " Thanks !This was very helpful. Do they have a abs relay and where is it located. Thanks, Bill "

SOURCE: 1995 chevy lumina car will not start

try to start it in neutral. the trans. has a safety switch that will not allow the car to start in anything, but park and neutral. sometimes the shift lever gets a little out of line with the gear indicator. also try firmly shifting into and out of park a few times. this may flip the switch. good luck

I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina and the turn signals do not work. The hazards work, but can't see the lights on the dashboard. Also the horn does not work.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved to model category.

It might be the flasher relay and it might be the horn relay although horns tend to seize up through lack of use. the flasher relay is is separate to the Hazards relay which is often part of the switch.

The brake lights won't go out. I pulled the fuse so the battery doesn't go dead, but can't figure out why they are staying lit.

on your brake pedal there is a switch that controls your brake lights over time it comes to lose just enough for the switch won't come in contact with the pedal

When i try to turn on my chevy lumina, it doesnt start or even try to turn over. The volt, oil, and service engine soon light are on and the security light is flashing.

To be honest the problem you speak of is very broadly based, but I will suggest a few things to check out.(in the same order) first make sure your battery has enough power. second check your fuses could be ignition issues as well, third check your starter and or solonoid. This is not a complete solution only enough to get you started, there are many culprits that could be at fault.

Daytime running lights won't turn off when you turn the key off

i have a 2000 lumina, hated my day time running lights, took a couple hours to figure it out ,if you truck is similar there is a specfic fuse for them mine was in a fuse panel located on the side of the dash panel on the passenger side, you can only see it when the door is open, look in your manual for fuse locations, the only other thing would be a relay stuck closed or the main headlight on off switch on the dash is malfunctioning, another thing i notice with my chevy is once in a while i shut it off and remove the key,and my stereo will still be on ,so i grab the ignition and move it a little and it locks in the off position and then everything is off,you have the same ignition,it may be doing something similar and you just arent seeing obvious sighns ,pull the ignition fuse instead of the headlight fuse,if they go off ,the ignition might be the problem
