Diagram should be under the hood
The auto tensioneris down low and dificult to get to.
If it has not been changed in a while you will need a long thin push stick and a serpentine tool.
Push on the belt hard at the auto adjuster and pop the belt off the smooth pully (located top).
hook up the serpentine belt tool and then mount the new belt

How do I change the fuel filter on 1996 chevy cavalier?

The filter should be in the fuel line under the car between the gas tank and the engine.
On some models it is in the engine compartment, and on others it is in front of the gas tank.
You squeeze a clip together on one end and the other end has a threaded pipe nut.
Make sure you release the pressure in the line before you take the line loose.

1996 chevy cavalier gas gauge stopped working. could it be a fuse???

One fuse operates all the gages, so no the fuse is not the problem, the problem is that the gas gage sending unit (a variable resistor) that senses the level of fuel in the gas tank is defective and needs to be replaced, this is the most common problem with any fuel gage problem

How to install a fuel pump on a 1996 chevrolet cavalier

Siphon most of the gas out of the tank. Raise car safely. Loosen tank straps and drop tank enough to disconnect fuel lines, electrical wires, and filler neck, then drop tank to the ground with the help of an assistant.Unscrew the metal retaining collar using a brass punch to avoid sparks then remove the fuel pump assembly

It is handy to have a good floor jack and some wood blocks to help in holding the tank while you remove the wires, hoses, etc. Reverse the procedure to install. I hope this helps you.

1996 CHEVROLET CAVALIER LS SADAN THE ETS SYSTEM IS OFF AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.

Theres a funny thing with ETS and engine lights in the cavalier. first check the gas tank cap. mame sure it is closed down firmly. If it already seems like it is firmly in place - try a different one from a friend or something like that. when there's air inlet from the gas tank, apparantly the car lights the check engine light becaues air inlet from the gas tank messes with its mixture values.

Engine doesnt like to start on a hill when low on gas.

Because you have limited gas, the small amount of gas that you have in there isnt being sent thru your fuel line because ur on a slant. Thus when your level, gas is distributed evenly in the tank and fed thru your fuel system. duh.
