Engine problems check engine is on, sometimes when I try to accelerate, engine do not work. . Now, if you disconnect the idle solenoid valve, the fault disappears, so I changed it, but the failure continued. If you keep the idle solenoid valve connected , and you disconnect the TPS failure also disappears, but the engine ralenti over 1000 RRPM ... Where can I find the values / Ohms ??to check if the TPS is bad or if some other sensor that the problem ... Currently, I removed the idle solenoid valve minimum and adjusted manually the screw, it works fine. The only problem, cold start I appreciate all the help. regards

before changing any more parts there are grounds on the engine that need cleaned one on the back of intake manifold then you have to remove battery tray clean up the ground there then clean where the tray bolts up as this aids in chassis grounding remove ground cable from bellhousing before you reassemble install star washers btween cable ends and where they bolt up this will dig into ground surface and cables making a better ground then remove turn signals in front there are two on right side and one on left side cleanup and star washer then there is the ground spots for the ecm inside removr kick panel on right side clean up and star washer if the starter doesnt work after this starter is probably bad but the other codes will probably clear out

I have 2005 Kia Sportage with a check engine light. No other symptoms. I was told by Kia and Local mechanic that it is the fuel injectors. Error Code states that Fuel injectors are running lean. Put Master airflow- no change. Ran engine test with propane to run rich and trim never changed from 15. Car runs great. Kia dealer said that this is because we use Ethel in gas that it effects the alumium fuel rail delivery to the injectors and that it is necessary to change all of them .Kia Dealer wants $1,000.00 deposit to place order 6 fuel injectors from Kia. (Has anyone heard of that?)Also put fuel injector cleaner in tank.Does anyone have any suggestions before I spend over $1,000.00 to replace all 6 injectors or possible idea of what could be wrong?

Well, it is either a timing belt/chain going out or a bad crank position sensor most likely causing the other problems. The O2 sensor may be bad as well but that usually doesn't cause the Misfire. The vehicle on board computer is confused, that is why it is throwing all those codes. and why it gives you that 1166 code which isn't defined. Check the crank position sensor and the timing and timing belt first. Once you have that fixed the rest should clear up.

the brake valve is actuated through a solenoid that controls the air pressure to the valve cylinder or the electric solenoid for the valve
it is operated either by the driver through a switch on the steering column or by a switch at the accelerator pedal where when the exhaust brake is switched on then with the accelerator pedal in the idle position it activates the actuator

Hello, I suspect the problem can be one of three things. An idle speed control Solenoid or a leak in the Intake system or bad valve runner operation. First, disconnect the accelerator cable at the Throttle connection. I am reading that you have a rough idle at 1200RPM and then that the idle is fine.

The idle is too high if it is set at 1200. By disconnecting the accelerator cable, you will find out if the cable is binding at low rpm. If the engine now idles slower with the cable off, you have found part of the problem.

The ISC, idle speed control, usually fits in a shallow well in the Intake, has a valve which routes extra air into the engine to smooth the idle. The valve shaft can be cleaned with WD40 and you can degum the passageway. Too much air at the wrong time can increase RPM and give the other controls fits trying to compensate, resulting in sputter.

A leaking intake manifold or manifold gasket can create the problems you describe. Use a hand spray bottle of water and mist the seams while the engine is running. A leak will draw in the water and change the RPM. Then fix the leak. Some 6 cylinder manifolds have 2 piece sandwich designs and the gaskets usually fail over time.

If you have the type of engine with intake runners, there are activating Pods which move rods underneath the Pods. Some have plastic clips which break and the rods fail to work after that.
Since the Electronics work, you will not get a check light. This defect sounds a lot like your problem because the Intake has certain flow designs to regulate power at different RPMs'. You are having problems only within a certain RPM range.

I hope my solution gives you new ideas on inspecting your engine for the problem.

I have a mitsubishi galant 1998 model.the problem is the rpm is to high even in the neutral the rpm goes up to 2000 rpm.

Do you have a "Check Engine" light? If not, check that the accelerator cable is functioning properly. When the accelerator is in the normal position the throttle plate should be completely closed. If necessary you should remove the air duct to inspect the interior of the throttle body. The cable should be have no slack but should allow the throttle plate to close all the way.

If the throttle is working properly then I would suggest looking at the idle air control (IAC) valve which controls the idle speed when the car is in park, in neutral or in gear and the accelerator is not depressed. Try disconnecting the IAC and note how the idle is affected. This will cause a Check Engine light to turn on. To clear it, disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes then start the car. Let me know what you find out.

Check engine light on egr code

Check the EGR valve for functioning:

COMPONENT TESTING DPFE Sensor
  1. Disconnect the pressure hoses at the DPFE sensor.
  2. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the downstream pickup marked REF on the sensor.
  3. Using a multimeter, backprobe the SIG RTN circuit at the DPFE connector.
  4. With the ignition ON, signal voltage should be 0.20-0.70 volts.
  5. Apply 8-9 in. Hg of vacuum to the sensor. Voltage should be greater than 4 volts.
  6. Quickly release the vacuum from the sensor. Voltage should drop to less than 1 volt in 3 seconds.
  7. If the sensor does not respond as specified, check the power and ground circuits.
  8. If power and ground circuits are functional, the sensor is faulty.
EVR Solenoid
  1. Remove the EVR solenoid.
  2. Attempt to lightly blow air into the EVR solenoid.
    1. If air blows through the solenoid, replace the solenoid with a new one.
    2. If air does not pass freely through the solenoid, continue with the test.
  3. Apply battery voltage (approximately 12 volts) and a ground to the EVR solenoid electrical terminals. Attempt to lightly blow air, once again, through the solenoid.
    1. If air does not pass through the solenoid, replace the solenoid with a new one.
    2. If air does not flow through the solenoid, the solenoid is OK.
  4. If the solenoid is functional but the problem still exists, check the power and ground circuits.
EGR Valve
  1. Install a tachometer on the engine, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Detach the engine wiring harness connector from the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid.
  3. Disconnect and plug the vacuum supply hose from the EGR valve.
  4. Start the engine, then apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels and position the transmission in Neutral.
  5. Observe and note the idle speed. NOTE: If the engine will not idle with the IAC solenoid disconnected, provide an air bypass to the engine by slightly opening the throttle plate or by creating an intake vacuum leak. Do not allow the idle speed to exceed typical idle rpm.
  6. Using a hand-held vacuum pump, slowly apply 5-10 in. Hg (17-34 kPa) of vacuum to the EGR valve nipple.
    1. If the idle speed drops more than 100 rpm with the vacuum applied and returns to normal after the vacuum is removed, the EGR valve is OK.
    2. If the idle speed does not drop more than 100 rpm with the vacuum applied and return to normal after the vacuum is removed, inspect the EGR valve for a blockage; clean it if a blockage is found. Replace the EGR valve if no blockage is found, or if cleaning the valve does not remedy the malfunction. ---

After sitting, hard to start, seems not to be getting fuel. you can spray starting fluid and it starts, must run at higher than normal idle for a few minutes, then will idle normally.

OPERATION The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve controls the engine idle speed and dashpot functions. The valve is located on the throttle body on. This valve allows air to bypass the throttle plate.   1. Make sure the ignition key is OFF.
  2. Disconnect the air control valve.
  3. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the terminals of the valve solenoid. NOTE: Due to the diode in the solenoid, place the ohmmeter positive lead on the VPWR pin and the negative lead on the ISC pin.
  4. If the resistance is not 7–13 ohms, replace the air control valve.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring to the IAC sensor.
  3. Remove the two retaining screws for the valve.
  4. Remove the IAC valve and discard of the old gasket. Fig. 2: Disengage the idle air control solenoid electrical connection 88485p12.jpg

    To install:
  5. Clean the area of old gasket material.
  6. Using a new gasket, attach the IAC valve to the engine. Tighten the retaining screws to 71–102 inch lbs. (8–12 Nm).
  7. Connect the IAC valve wiring to the unit.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.

Engine purging as if accelerator sticking but it isnt .whats going on there?

If the engine is surgeing without accelerator sticking then you have an idle air solenoid valve sticking. Sometimes they can be cleaned and put back in and work fine and then sometimes need replaced. Clean with carburator cleaner. Be careful when removing it from engine intake to not damage it's seal.

IDLING PROBLEMS ON 1992 ACCORD EX

Have the Idle Control Solenoid Valve cleaned up.

Or it might be defective. See steps below to check...
  1. Disconnect idle control solenoid valve electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect upper hose to solenoid valve from manifold and apply vacuum to hose. Valve should hold vacuum.
  3. Continue applying vacuum to hose and briefly energize valve by connecting battery positive terminal to the black/yellow wire terminal and negative battery terminal to the green/black wire terminal. Valve should not hold vacuum when energized.
  4. If idle control solenoid valve fails to perform as outlined, valve is defective.

Egr low circut malfuntion

  1. Check the EGR control system and EGR valve with the engine fully warmed up and running [engine coolant temperature over 76 °C (170 °F) ]
  2. With the transaxle in neutral and the throttle closed, allow the engine to idle for 70 seconds .
  3. Abruptly accelerate the engine to approximately 2000 r/min , but not over 3000 r/min .
  4. The EGR valve stem should move when accelerating the engine. Repeat the test several times to confirm movement.
  5. If the EGR valve stem moves, the control system is operating normally.
  6. Remove the vacuum hose from the EGR valve and plug the hose end.
  7. Connect a hand vacuum pump directly to the EGR valve
  8. Check whether the engine stalls or if the idle is unstable when a vacuum of 20 kPa (6 in.Hg) or higher is applied while idling.
this is the test procedure but I would suspect the EGR TRANSDUCER SOLENOID

APC Solenoid Valve Knocking

The APC valve regulates boost pressure (via the wastegate) to avoid over-pressurising the engine. It ensures that a safe boost pressure isn't exceeded. Don't run with it disconnected or you risk blowing the engine!

Problem areas can include: knock sensor on the engine block (also poor quality fuel, dirty engine causing knock); engine ECU.

You need to provide more information about when this happens:

hard accelerating? (likely poor quality fuel, dirty plugs/engine causing knock) and general driving similar.

idling? possibly a knock sensor or ECU related problem

What rpm? what boost gauge pressure?

as an outside chance, maybe a sticky wastegate
