Engine will not thottle up correct - 1997 Geo Tracker 2 Door

That error is not the O2 sensor. It is tjhe throttle or gas pedal postion sensor. It is on the floorboard attached to the foot feed for the throttle. IT gets dirty, wet, loose etc. Check it, clean it, reseat it and if all else fails...replace it.

You are missing the battery ground connection to the engine, causing the thottle cable to carry high current while starting the engine.

what engine do you? if you got the 3.4 the thermastat is under the thottle body and if you have the 2.4 it is in the back under the engine next to the oil pan and between the ****** anf engine

try doing a thottle body cleaner in the thottle body remove the factory air fliter u can by thecleaner at auto zone spary it in the thottle body get a tooth bush in clean it .then turn your truck on rav it couple time ..if not get a fuel system cleaner tht help or new plugs in wire good luck

try looking at motor mounts.

The TPS ( THOTTLE POSITION SENSOR) tells the engine computer and trans how far you are pushing the gas pedal. Its mounted on the side of the thottle body. It will make the engine surge if it is failing. Have replaced this part many times for this problem. TCM (TRANS CONTROL MODULE) control trans shifting. The tps is and one of the input sensor for shifting.

Its on the side of the thottle body, two 10mm bolts hold it on, its cylinder shape and will have bright metal on the ends of it, with a wiring harness plugged in on one side, if you locate the air cleaner follow the black intake tube up to the engine, the black tube hooks onto the thottle body, then on the side should be the idle air control valve.

Check the thottle linkage make sure its not stuck open. And check for any large vacuum leaks.
