My fusion wont start in cold weather, it also wont start sometimes even when i just shut it off, its very off and on i did notice that when i get gas the sending unit wont read what the new fuel level is and when that happens it wont crank over. all my lights and acc work just fine. when this happens i have to jump it to get it started. Any ideas what it could be?

did you do a fuel pressure test? or did you just push in on the valve on the fuel rail and gas came out? if thats all you did, that will not tell you anything.you GOT to do a pressure test. just 3 to 5 pounds under and it will not run. fuel injection is fussey. you can rent a pressure gage at most major parts stores. they can even tell you what the pressure shoud be. just because you can hear the pump run, dosent mean its pumping, or at least the right pressure. did you also chk.for spark? need to do that to. still need air, fuel, and fire to make them run. good luck.

Check the starter solenoid. Usually mounted on a fender well. Find by following the + battery cable.

Charge the batteries. take a Reading to make sure that you are getting almost 14v to both batteries. If it is not charging then take the alternator back off and have them check it. you might have bought a bad one. There is a way to test the glow plus with out taking them out. ( Take a piece of wire long enough to reach all the glow plugs from the battery. unplug the glow plug wire.If you touch the end of the glow plug with the hot wire it should make a little spark. if no spark then the glow plug is bad. do this to each one, but one at a time)
