How do I replace my 2004 Hyundai Elantra reverse light sensor switch

if this is a manual transaxle the reverse lamp switch is just behind the battery box beside the slave cylinder mount. if this is an automatic transaxle it is built into the trans range switch that shift cable moves on top of transmission.

On my 2002 hyundai elantra gt with an automatic the spline gear that the cv shaft slips into inside the transaxle has about a 1/4" of movement up and down, is that normal?

Are you SURE it's 1/4 inch? From which point are you measuring this '1/4"?' If you're taking this measurement at the SEAL of the transaxle, then IT'S NOT normal.

Hi there, I live in Colombia South America and I have a HYUNDAI Elantra 2001 automatic transmission and it behaves exactly like yours. I have the best mechanic guy intown and also the dealer garage take down the whole transmission and nothing changed. It seems now to be something with the electric wiring system.

I would recommend you to have the electric system checked.

Good luck.

Can't find transaxle filter on 2003 elantra

If your trans is automatic you have to remove the trans pan. When you remove the pan the filter is right there. If your trans is manual there is no filter.
