Have you done basic troubleshooting? Spark at plugs? Fuel pressure? Compression?

Your water pump has a small hole on the top and the bottom of the housing right behind the belt pulley. This is known as a weep hole and is there to let you know when the front seal has gone out of the pump and it is in need of changing. You really want to get this taken care of because on your engine the ignition system is ran off of the crank pulley and is known as "Opti-Spark" when the system gets antifreeze in it it usually goes bad. The Opti-Spark distributor sits right underneath the water pump, so a leaking water pump soon will take out your distributor which is another added expense.

Are there any MiL codes present? Maybe the exhaust is clogged.

w an old car the electric components get hot from wear--fuel pump may b failn--hav a pressure test done----again wiring cud hav bad connects or car needs tuneup-new plug wires or coil or maybe evn an ignition module--gett car scanned n dont buy parts til issue isolated

shuts off while driving down road, then restarts after 10-15 minutes. a bad crank sensor will cause this. also check the fuel pump relay in fuse box. it may be getting hot, and shutting down fuel pump. check this first. have a good day !!

Sounds like the timing is retarded. Loosen the distributor hold down bolt and turn the distributor counter clockwise about a half inch or so. Then drive the car. If it runs better then get a timing light and set the timing to 10 to 15 degrees before top dead center (btdc) at idle with EST disabled (if equipped) or if it has a vacuum advance with vacuum hose disconnected. these vehicles overheat real fast when u noticed the water pump leak yu should have replaced it now i think that you have over heated the head and the heads have to be removed , check for cracks and most probably you will end up doing a valve job and replacement of the head gasket, water pump and the timing belt. sorry not very cheap at all

NO, check oil pressure module. Bad module (red ligh of check engine on) or a bad cable can interrupt the fuel pump voltage. This is a security to device to induce car to turn off when the oil pressure drop near 0. and to protect the wholee engine
