The "D" light on dashboard showing gear status has been flashing while in drive for the past two weeks, no other problems with the car, just wondering what this might be trying to tell me...
Read operators guide, it says, transmission errors.
slipping, is bad, if slipping the trans clutches or bands will burn up.
it dont flash for funs and giggles. RTM
Testimonial: "Thank you! The car did not come with an operator's guide. The speedometer has now stopped working and I was told by a mechanic that may be why the light was flashing but now I have had two responses on this website that it's a transmission problem. Have parked the car until I can get in to shop."

A green flashing "S" is similar to a check engine light. It is telling you that something in or on your transmission is not functioning correctly, such as the speed sensor or shift control solenoids. If it starts flashing and the speedometer stops working or the transmission shifts weird, take it to a mechanic.
