I have a 2003 kia sedona van 3.5 liter that jumped time. I reset the timing put a new belt on it and it ran good for 35-45 min. Then it cut off, and wouldn't start back up. It has an OBD2 code for cam shaft positioning sensor, so I replaced that, disconnected the battery, left that off for a while, hooked the battery back up, and it still won't start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Cam sensor fail can be crank sensor fail engine will run with cam sensor fail but crank it will not fire. also recheck the timing belt settings you fit the timing belt and run engine till warm then recheck the belt adjustment to make sure its in line and at recommended tightness.

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Stratus ? Camshaft Position Sensor causing problems (I

I had the same problem with my '05 Stratus SXT 2.4 DOHC. I've replaced the cam pos sensor and it seems to be running fine right now. On the Dodge forums a lot of the guys say that you need to replace the crank pos sensor too. I've bought one of those just in case it comes back again. Hope this helps.

Is 80000 miles the correct mileage for changing the timing belt(or chain} on a 2006 kia sedona lx v6 van? thanks

The 3.8 liter in the 2006 actually has a timing chain not a belt. So the chain doesn't need to replace what you may run into down the road is the tensioners having a problem as their is basically 3 chains in that engine. I would still take chains over belts any day though.
thank you and enjoy,

2003 KIA Sedona, son-in-law over heated and blew head gasket. Had heads machined, replaced gaskets and re-assembled, van ran very rough, rechecked timimg marks, ok. Getting code 305, checked and found...

timing belt set set wrong firing to early.this a classic case of timing gone wrong.even one notch out will result in a badly running engine.bring it back and get it retimed on the belt/chain.adrian
