If I were you, I would rather go in for a diagnosis (scan) if my car is OBD I compliant.
But you could take a look at the fuel pump or see that the fuel system generally is okay.

The Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) may need cleaning or replacement.
This valve lets air bypass the throttle plate so that the engine can idle. The more air, the faster the idle. If this valve is sticky, the computer may have a hard time regulating the idle properly and may surge.

Most likely a fuel pump problem, locate the diagnostic check connector under the hood and turn the key on then put a jumper wire between the terminals FP and B+ if it start then the fuel pump is ok and the problem may be the EFI relay or efi fuse

I would like to put a fuel injected 4.3 l motor from a Chevy Blazer into my 1982 Toyota pick up. I would like to know if the motor mounts are going to have to be changed and if it will fit into the Toyota.
