Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata the sunvisor will not stay up or all the way down. It just flaps back and forth, I have to put double sided tape on it for it to stay all the way up.

My 2006 Sonata's sun visor won't fold up or all the way down, starting from early this year. The car only has 18,000 miles.

If under 60,000 miles, take it to the dealer for replacement - free of charge. Both sun visors on my 2006 Hyundai Sonata did the same thing and had them both replaced, but now out of warranty and driver's side has done it again so I'll have to pay to have it fixed. Looking for a used one online now. I guess this is just a defect in that particular model.

My driver side sun visor was broke too wouldn't stay up, You can buy new from dealer, or at a junk yard, all you do is pull visor down and unplug connection, plug new one in.

Loose driver side sun visor

If there is head of a screw on the arm that attaches to the sunvisor you can tighten that up. If not the sunvisor has to be replaced instead

Sun Visors won't stay up.

Bring it back to the dealer. That happened to mine and they replaced it. Also had problems with the drivers seat. It would not go back & forth. Dealer fixed.

Broken sun visor

On the plastic cover take a small screw driver and pry one of the open ends, in other words if you look at the cover carefully it is shaped like a U, pry on the top right side of the U to un-snap then rotate or twist the cover to remove. Then you can get to the screws that hold it into place/

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata I have the same problem with my 2007 Sonata driver side sun visor broke and will not stay up but keeps droping down in my view....

I have a 2007 Sonata and the driver's side sun visor broke. I called the dealership where I purchased the car, and was told that they only cover it for 5 years/60,000 miles. So if your's is broken, get it in there before the warranty expires. Otherwise the cost is around $80 for the visor unit.
