My kia loses power randomly going down the road does not cut off just will not go if you cut it off let it set you can go a couple more miles sometimes reapeating and sometimes it will go 6 months or more before acting up and tthe engine light comes on ramdomly but never when it runs badly dealer says no problems found
I have very similar problem. Car goes well, then loses power (BUT engine still running) usually when you let your foot off the acceleration pedal, then if you go to a lower gear or shift around a bit it works fine again. Then it might repeat this randomly. My garage tried the exhaust-gas-recycle valve also to no effect. The oil filter is new - but I think there is another "inner" oil filter??? Anyone with any ideas of how to solve it would be appreciated.I have very similar problem. To test a altinator the easy way without special tools, start the car, remove the negative battery cable. If it stays running, the altinator is good. I had the same type of problems. It's probably your ignition coil/coils going bad. Try replacing it and cleaning inside distributer cap & rotor.
HOW MANY MILES? Where/ how has vehicle been driven: (loads of miles in in dusty conditions?) have you checked for a plugged fuel filter? or tested the fuel pump? inspected wiring to the fuel pump? how about the gas cap -- seriously! there could be a vapor lock going on... is this random or is there some pattern to when it cuts out? (say after so many miles etc?) Ck
yes your timing belt is broken it causes no valve damage or push rod they break at or just over 102000 miles easy fix dont take it to the dealer they tried to charge me 1400 dollars did my self in an hour and half using kias repair web site they walk you through the whole process
