I would like to fit a stadard AUDI turbo to AUDI A3 1.8 20V (APG ENGINE CODE). My engine block has no holes where the turbo is to be mounted, can i have this engine block sent to an engineer to have the holes drilled into the engine block?

I am not sure but most turbos are mounted directly to the exhaust manifold. I imagine that all you would want is a turbo manifold and it should be a go from there

SOURCE: turbo= not working

Most likely the turbo is gone. What ever part of the turbo went, just replace the entire turbo. Not serviceable 99% of the time. The engine will not like being driven for any extended period of time with a bad turbo.

SOURCE: engine light on, heavy smoke and engine burning smell (Audi 1.8T)

First off, how the Hell did they issue a DOT Cetificate, if the Emissions are known to be off the clock. Without causing stress, do you have, or can obtain the Emission Test Result Print Out from the Testing Station test Equipment. This is something they cannot refuse. DO NOT AUTHORISE ANY REPAIRS Come back TO ME with your story.

SOURCE: have an engine code for a check engine light 1423

P1411 - secondary air injection system flow too low Bank 2.
P1423 - secondary air injection system flow too low Bank 1.
Check vacuum hoses to combi valves ,
most common split air injection pump which is riveted with aluminum rivets,ck rivets if they coming out ,pump doesn't build enough pressure.
In this case take pump out and put bolts instead of rivets all around pump case.Repl. all rivets not only broken one.Bolts sold at HomeDepot , just find a needed size.

On a 87 bronco 5.0/302, which location is good to place an engine block heater?

They fit into one of the engine block freeze plugs. Choose the one that is easiest to get to. Some have a special one with threaded holes to hold a mounting bracket. Otherwise, they fit into the hole and have jaws that grip from the inside.

I have put an 1989 350 engine in a 1983 chevy truck. Do I need a spacer between the block and motor mounts before I set the engine down in the truck?

You didn't mention what was in the 83. If it was a V8 smallblock, then no changes need to be made. All smallblock engines have provisions for engine mounts in the exact same places beginning in 1958.
If the engine had a 6 cylinder or a big block engine then you'd need to change the mounts. The mounts are bought according to the vehicle year they are used in. So, all smallblock mounts will fit your engine but may not match the holes in the chassis unless they are for that vehicle and year. (some do interchange though). Either way, no spacers or adapters are necessary..

Audi A6 3.0 tdi Quattro 2005, glow plug light comes on, limp mode

Must move freely when accelerating, won't achieve full boost if waste gate sticking open. Check Turbo impeller turning freely, oil feed pipe for turbo can get blocked causing impeller to seize. Engine compact, not easy to access these components.

Will a manual gear box fit a auto engine in my audi a4 1.8 turbo petrol as i have heard id wont and they have the same engine code

automatics can be changed to manual but its not that easy. Not only do you have to change the gear box you have to change all related parts (ie: driveshaft, flywheel, ujoints etc.) you then have to hang a clutch petal mount a slave cylinder. Might want to rethink this project.
