1985 c10 choke stuck open it's cold and damp
Absolutely not, the automatic choke is defective. Replace that and it should be fine. It will need to be adjusted when cold to fully closed position. Check vacuum lines as vacum pulls the choke back when engine is started.

Is a 1986 chevy 400 transmission tale shaft the
If you mean length, not necessarily. You'll have to measure from where the tail shaft bolts to the main transmission case. If you mean the T400 driveshaft sliding into the 700R4, then it shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps.
My feul gauges wont work
Hi John, With a vehicle of this vintage the problem could well be with bad earthing, bad cables to the tank and from the gauge to power. You'll also be well advised to check the tank sender unit. The circuit is not complicated and if the sender unit and gauge are both good, you should be able to sort out the problem. Regards John
DISCONNECT BRAKE PEDAL 1991 SUBURBAN
98 Suburban 5.7L, automatic trans is stuck in park - no previous shifting problems, I know that the brake switch also operates the brake/transmission solenoid (BTS). Stepping on the brake pedal prior to starting the vehicle allows shifting from park to another gear. When I switch the key to the "on" position, I don't hear the BTS click. I can start the vehicle and the brake lights work fine. I just can't shift out of Park. I am unemployed and I am trying to troubleshoot this problem and fix it myself. Please help!
Causes stalling
