CV joint, the strut does not make a knocking sound unless its totally
shoot and the car is bouncing to its high and low limit.

If you push down on the car and it bounces a little then the strut is shoot.

The cv joint will knock if it is bad when you turn the wheel, when it gets real bad,it will knock when driving in a straight line.

Have 2008 Caren's 2.0 CRDI 72,000 miles Have developed knocking from f/o/s suspension. Have replaced ball joint on suspension arm but knocking continues with every little bump in roads.

Sounds like a strut issue. If knocks when hitting a bump. You can remove the strut. If you can close it by hand relativly easy. Strut is out

Nocking sound on the front the right side

check the lower ball joints for wear and looseness. If that is the case then you will need a replacement ball joint -- tools--jack and jack stands-- and mechanical knowledge or a work shop manual

Front driver side suspension knock over bumps

See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.

Knocking noise front suspension

It very well could be a ball joint, but I would check your strut tower. When they come loose, they hit the fender where the connection is. Pop the hood, and look where the tower comes up, push down on the fender and see if it moves. That may be your problem. Hope that helps
